According to AiMod, Epilepsy warning (just as letterboxing and countdown) should be disabled
Why?
This makes no sense
I have a map with taiko diffs with a strong pulsing SB, and I'm not allowed to give an Epilepsy warning?
Is it just me, or is that really weird
The ranking criteria don't say anything about it AFAIK, only Aimod

As long as RC does not say it is unrankable, you can use it. This should be rather feature request because this is never going to be rule, every mode can have storyboard.

AIMod is nothing you always should follow strictly. If the epilepsy warning is necessary then put it in. Heck, even Countdown doesn't affect the Taiko mode. You only need to disable letterboxes when you have a longer break in Taiko which isn't common but still happens.

From what I remember it's either hidden behind the taiko elements or it's interfering with them.

Also why would you make a pulsing SB for taiko... X_x ;D

Sb was for standard, but it's a hybrid set now (Standard/Taiko/7K mania)
Or on an other map of mine, both standard and taiko

The warning goes behind the taiko bar.

Ranking Criteria wrote:

  1. Maps that use repetitive strobes, pulsing images, or flashing colors in the storyboard must use the epilepsy warning. There is one built-into the editor, which will display a visual warning at the beginning of the map and also mark the map's online thumbnail with a warning icon. Also, it helps to make a note of the flashing/strobes/etc. in the map's thread. This warning is absolutely needed so that players with epilepsy can avoid any danger.
Hence the "Epilepsy warning should be disabled" isn't right, since you are able to make flashy SB's in Taiko, too. This has been changed some years ago for unknown reason to me. But considering that this is an editor side thing, this probably belongs to feature requests. Though, since there is a restruction of osu's design anyway, this might be already under consideration. But I don't know.

Actually I would bubble this already since it looks like a feature request or change to me. But maybe someone has something to add.

Well
I didn't know where to post this actually, so I thought this was the best place for this (as it has to do with ranking criteria in a certain manner)
If it should be in F-reqs, perhaps someone can move it, if needed

Guess we can move it then.
