I like it, but some points:
-Put a toggle, not everyone will want it.
Q-When they say they remove the backgrounds, is it literal(delete the image, so the skin takes over) or they're just messing with background dim? If the later I fail to see how this feature wouldn't work :/
-If we're already here, maybe extend the personal background option(for supporters) so that you can put more than one background.

What if there's a beatmap with multiple backgrounds. (Like each BG for each diff)
Will it randomly choose from one difficulty or just choose from the first difficulty?
(I know it's too far as now, but this would be questionable for the future development.)

Here's how I'd want it done:
- Background is from the selected difficulty in the song list (default would be the one with least star rating).
- Full brightness (no dimming).
- Toggleable. (for example, a "Show current song background in main screen" toggle)

I became Supporter just to vote on this. Will stay a Supporter, if it is needed to use this feature 
If you can enable this in the options, then I see no reason why to not add this. I think this is a fantastic feature, and of course probably for supporters only.

I don't see this as a feature I need. I think it would be neat, but not needed. (In my opinion) Mainly because I don't really use Osu! as a music player and therefore don't spend any time at all staring at my background on the main menu. But of course, thats just me.

This^^. osu! is not a music player. I still think the idea is neat tho, it could be used for eye candy.

Today I got a bug where the beatmap backgrounds show on the main menu, guess this wouldn't be hard to implement then.
I took some screenshots, but when I started recording it the "bug" fixed itself ;-;
I have no other clue of how this happened beside the fact osu was open while my pc were asleep for more than 10 hours. Maybe it has to do with the latest update that fixed the black screen after a long time afk?
