yeah the lifetime supporter club is for elite people only

or people who happen to win the osu! version of the lottery

CONGRATS BROTHA (OR SISTA)
Luna
1 in 1 billion is worse odds than the RL lottery tbh
winber1
well the lottery has been won various times. THE OSU LOTTERY HAS ONLY BEEN WON ONCE.

i believe there is a story to be told in this.

1 in 1 billion would be worse.

But odds are playcount in 1 billion. Which in most cases is higher odds.
Luna
Nah, it's 1 in 1 billion.
Otherwise you'd have to say that the lottery odds are number of (unique) tickets bought / number of possible combinations.
But it's only 1 in 1 billion if you don't know when the "magic number" is gonna happen - since we have a playcount estimate and the result is completely deterministic (exactly the 1bnth play), it's a way higher chance if you actively tried for it ;P

Total playcount was a rough estimate. No, the odds are NOT 1billion. The odds would be exactly the same for 2billion or any other value. They depend on the currently active players and their rate of retrying maps in that certain period of time. I used the playcount as proportionally scaling estimate of said rate.

The odds of each seperate play would not take into account the rate that each player goes at but rather only the amount of currently active players.

In real lottery it indeed makes a difference wether you buy 10 tickets or 1. Not in the way you desribed though.
