Don't worry too much about the hit sounds fitting with the theme of Nintendo. Ideally you want hit sounds that are good to play with.
Most skins usually have the clicky or wooden sounds. They might be a good choice.
Why not try some other skins out? If you find some hit sounds you like then you can use them for your skin. (You are allowed to use hit sounds from other skins.)
I think the hit sounds from
SKINWITHOUTNAME would be the best for a Nintendo skin.
