I suggest an addition to the ranking criteria, that makes people strip unneeded embedded data from their audio files. Mp3 files can have embedded images (usually album art), which is completely wasted filesize bloat for the purpose of osu maps.
One can easily strip away images from the audio file with ffmpeg and other software.

often, those images are from the album itself, which can be really useful when you want to search more about the song for metadata purposes. More information on metadata is more useful than removing the bloat file size imo.

also it could be rather complicated to do remove the embedded images if you're not famillar editing file metadata through a external software program.

how can you tell if mp3s have these images?

how would you remove these images? if it's not something the average person knows how to do, especially if bns don't know how to do it, enforcing it is gonna be difficult

how much filesize bloat do they cause? (ranked map examples?)

from the mp3s i had its most likely just album names and its pretty useful if you want to, for example, know where the album is coming from, and it doesn't seem to be a huge file bloat as they're most likely just gonna be around 100kb

not really worth too much effort to put in into removing 100kb of file imo

not too convinced this is necessary and haven't seen any activity, so archiving
