Once upon a time, I had a membrane keyboard and I was like screw this, so I got a cheap mechanical keyboard. It was an Azio keyboard with cute little brown switches that I liked it a lot, but I wanted more oomph sound to the keys because I thought it was aesthetic to listen to other's plays with loud keyboards, it was like asmr.

I wanted a louder keyboard, and my friend wanted a quieter keyboard, so we traded and I got his Razer Blackwidow with BLUE switches, which at the time I thought was a great deal because it was like $40 more than my keyboard.

So one day I was playing the Witcher 3 while I had my new keyboard and was sipping on a Baja Blast I got from Taco Bell, but I accidentally knocked it over and fucking soaked my keys with sticky soda. After saying fuck fuck fuck I unplugged the keyboard to minimize the damage done by the liquid. And so I had to play osu! with a membrane keyboard for a while. I stopped playing osu! for a while at this time anyway so it didn't really matter.

The thing is, eventually the keyboard started working again after letting it dry out for weeks and trying it every so often, but while I was getting inside it to clean the internals of stickiness, part of the frame of the keyboard snapped, so now it looks ugly af. On top of that, the Blue switches are annoying becuase if I play my mom comes in my room and is like wtf are you doing or it keeps people awake. Also, my old Azio with browns had a cool roller for the volume that was super convenient for osu! and in general. I also liked the white light of my Azio more than this green light.

Basically I thought I was getting a good deal when I traded but I ended up wanting my old keyboard back, but I couldn't ask to switch because I had damaged this one. Moral of the story is that more expensive is not always better. Just consider your preferences.

Now, I just deal with the loudness, but I want a quieter keyboard for osu! with still a bit of oomph. Maybe something with a more lenient actuation point because these blues are heavy af and I think they legit make streaming a bit harder. I'm thinking of Reds because they seem like an inbetween of blues and browns. Maybe greens? Blacks? What do you guys suggest.

It's all about preference but i recommend getting linear switches, very good for typing and gaming.

What are your suggestions for linear switches? Preferably something that you can get on a market keyboard since I won't be able to afford customs.

And also have you tried the linear Kailh box switches? If you have then are they any good?
