I go counter-clockwise.
At first I spun clockwise but I changed very quickly because spinning clockwise always made me loose the grip of my mouse for some reason, which did not happen when spinning counter-clockwise.

I haven't played this game in a long time now. But from what I know, I spin counter-clockwise. I knew this just because I played the game for my first year, then stopped after the second, and played again.

I think for right-handed people, it is advisable to go cw
