Osu and possible eye problem

I've been playing osu quite a lot in the past year and last month i noticed a sudden increase in the number of eye floaters (the dots or strings that drift through your vision and are most noticeable when looking at a bright background) as well as weird flashes in my eyes when i glance at a light source so took an eye examination and it was found out that i had small retinal tears in both my eyes. This condition is more common in high nearsighted people (i have -9.00 D in both my eyes) and can possibly lead to a sight threatening complication called retinal detachment so i had to get a laser treatment right away. But just lately i've read some literatures proving that jerking head movements and saccadic eye movements (which is profusely presented in playing osu) can cause constant stress to the back of the eyes which can in turn lead to or worsen a retinal tear. So currently i'm really panicked and wondering if playing osu had contributed to worsening my condition and idk if i should continue playing anymore. This can also in general raise a question of whether high nearsighted people should play osu frequently or not.

depends on how much you play per day but i say take a break for a day or two and see

it's little to say you should take it easy

Everything comes with it's problems if used incorrectly. You've probably been playing osu a little too much. Maybe take a break, and when you get back into it, play in moderation, and take regular breaks. Osu doesn't just threaten your eyes, but your fingers as well. Even your general health if you get too focused on the game and don't eat, drink, or sleep properly.

While this all sounds scary, it can be easily avoided by taking regular breaks to maintain your health, and playing in moderation. Take care, bud.

The best answer should be: Come back to the game when you're feel better, it's better when you have great health and great mood.

hello I have nearsightness at -8.5 D both eyes

it’s a matter of not completely abusing your eyes rather than just flat out stopping playing the game

if you’re afraid of having retinal tearing, take a small break from the game often and don’t play for too long in a single session
