Hey! So I want to start playing osu! taiko, and I came across a map with 3 fast hit circles.
I noticed that I can't do it while single tapping, so I tried alternating and it didn't really work.
I was wondering what's better?
blue red red blue or blue red blue red

strictly speaking those are the same, you have one d and one k on each hand (kddk) which is one style, the other is ddkk (d on left hand and k on right hand(or vice versa)) and both work, just pick one and stick with it

This guy is asking about dkdk, not ddkk from the looks of it.

kdkd is a pretty unexplored playstyle and it's hard to say if it has any disadvantages over other playstyles.

For the record k=blue and d=red. I disagree with ddkk and kddk being the same, both of them work but I genuinely think kddk is the safer option as that is more widely used by top players, they have advantages and disadvantages to the point where a few ddkk players use cheesy strategies to do better on monocolor streams.

At the end of the day the choice is up to you, try out both and see which seems most fun. I personally recommend kddk if you intend to become a top player (by top player I mean like top 50 or so though), however I think fun is more important, figure out what aligns best with your goal.
