If its necessary, what are the benefits of doing so? Since low bpm maps usually don't have streams anyways I'm kinda wondering if its even useful at all, thoughts?

1. Is it necessary? SURE
2. Is it useful? Helps with finger control.

It's necessary if you have trouble on alt maps/low bpm streams (think ice angel).
It's useful for keeping acc on low bpm streams, hitting spaced low-bpm 1/4 rhythms (think alt maps and generally any map with high-spaced 1/4s).

if you can acc <180 you can acc >180

it's necessary for me because my favorites maps are low bpm.
A lot of low bpm maps have streams, sometimes even deathstreams.

And as people already said, i think it's useful for everyone's accuracy/finger-control.

Yes it is necessary. It improves your finger controls, which leads to better accuracy.
