Regarding BPM

So I've watched a couple videos on the basics as to creating beatmaps and the particular song I'm trying to work on is listed by the artist as 140 BPM, though that is not true in all aspects of the song (like during the drop), I'd like to get some feedback on what experienced people think of the BPM for the track.

140(?) BPM

EDIT: After playing with the program for a bit at 140 BPM, I uploaded the file (which I believe is how I'm supposed to do it?) for more feedback.

I have wrote in your beatmap topic, what timing is exactly.

It's dubstep. The tempo is constant at 140. That's what dubstep does. Actually, it creates a half time feel, so you'd be forgiven for thinking that it changes to 70.

Your use of offsets doesn't fit the track. Furthermore, you should begin mapping at 00:17:570- as everything below is what I'd consider as too sparse to map. You only need one offset at 14142 and that will fit the whole track.

Also, start over and use distance snap without fail, because the spacing of the map is extremely inconsistent. Observe other maps and try to take ideas from them. Take into account how patterns are arranged and where objects are placed in a bar; that sort of thing.

So - Keep BPM at 140, offset to 14,142, start map at 00:17:570. Set the distance snap divisor to 1/2(?). And overall just try to get a feel for placement based on other well-done maps, yes?

Also thank you for the replies. I also updated my beatmap to reflect the above changes.

Um, distance snap, not beat snap. Hold alt when you place objects or look for the Distance Snap icon on the right. Even experienced mappers sometimes/often use terrible spacing, so new mappers should use the feature as often as possible.
