Hello! I am a new mapper here at osu! Is there anything I should know before I get mapping? Plus I have mapped 3 maps before and working on one now.

I would really like some tips or youtubers that could help me out in mapping. Thanks! :)

Watch everything by this guy to get some basic knowledge, get in modding queues to get mods, and try to make friends with different mappers in the community. You can also get discord as there is where loads of mappers usually spend their time at when they're not modding. Go in different mapping servers and stuff

I'd recommend not to try to go for rank before you know what you're doing, or you will be in for a lot of pain and annoyance.

Don't watch all of pishi's videos, most of them aren't that useful. The best ones to watch as a new mapper are probably the ones about the editor along with those in pishi's "osu!mapping tutorials" playlist, even if some of the ideas he expresses are kind of boring.

Mapping Discord servers, on the other hand, are really good places for networking and getting feedback, so that's good advice.

Other than the basic concepts to get started, mapping is learned by yourself. Here are 2 youtube channels that explains.

Other tips (quotes are copypasted from stuff I said to new mappers) :
Join the communuty. Don't be afraid of asking stuff in #modhelp (when it isn't dead).
Get into modding. Modding is a great way of learning mapping since it allows you to experience in depth other mappers creations.
"Mapping is a game in itself : we become better the more we do it."
"Play more. Experience more maps from other mappers, but with the eyes of a mapper. See patterns, analyse rythm choices, emphasis, etc. [...] In mapping, the best teacher is yourself."

If anyone could give me videos instead that would help me? (just interested in videos that could help)

As said in my post, there isn't any (or at least real one) "learn how to map in 5 minutes!" videos. On top of that, there isn't many mapping tutorials. Check out the 2 playlists I've given, this should get you started.

Illuminati: https://discord.gg/ctvbqFy
Also go to Sotarks userpage to get to his server, I don't have link now since i left his server

Lastly, keep an eye out for mentorship programme since its starting again soon

Tho mentorship program have limited mentor and too many mentees applicants. About discords, I know there is a mapping newbie discord, I don't have link because I left, [urlhttps://osu.ppy.sh/community/forums/topics/778649]think it's that one[/url].
