I guess I'll show up in this thread, since somebody posted Globular and mentioned Ultimae, and downtempo psychedelic is a big part of my life...from Self Fulfilling Prophecy, track 07 - To The Other Side Of Fractal Phase Space is probably one of my favorite songs ever... nice to see I'm not the only one in the world that knows about the Ektoplazm site, seeing things that previously I thought I was the only one who knew about like Auma
On to stuff...
It's psytrance inspired and a fusion of a couple genres, and I didn't see anyone in here mention it yet, so
AkaraI got an advance release of the second album(contributed to the campaign a year ago), it's more of the same, in a very good way...shows up for public release August 5th
And in case nobody's heard of
Rena JonesHer first album is drum and bass-ey(but still soft enough to call ambient), the next two are more dubby, and the newest one is leaving electronic ambient toward just some ambient classical, but there's still electronic beats there
Recently someone pointed me at
The Polish Ambassadorwhich, generally speaking, I'd call "breakbeat funk", soulful, nowhere near hip-hop but maybe heading in that general direction sometimes..and if you like that
SaQi is probably good too
And finally, abstract strange stuff. This label:
Abstrakt Reflections for gloomy schizo emo stuff, and this label
Echomania for happy stuff that's somewhat weird.
That's a concise list of everything I've proudly paid for in the last year and a half that really sticks with me, I could've just linked to
my bandcamp collection and done without specifics, but it contains a lot of uptempo psytrance as well
People tell me I'd love Sphongle but is music really still enjoyable when everyone you meet has heard of it?
