Now that was lovely, definitely checking more by them.

dumping my most ambient-ish tracks here because I can (-:
http://2nnt.bandcamp.com/track/a-sea-of-liquid-pinecones < trip-hop or something
http://2nnt.bandcamp.com/track/astral-flowers < different trip-hop or something
http://ia600606.us.archive.org/16/items ... 2Remix.mp3 < darker and more distorted, also not on bandcamp
http://2nnt.bandcamp.com/track/glassicle < again something hip/trip-hopish
http://2nnt.bandcamp.com/track/humming-ruins-of-heaven < this is rather breakcoreish, but still darker than my soul
http://2nnt.bandcamp.com/track/plaza-of ... ktoberfest < chilly and happy breakbeat/ambient thing
http://2nnt.bandcamp.com/track/dark-hol ... -and-syrup < breakbeatish thing again, dark, but still quite happy melody
http://2nnt.bandcamp.com/track/dusty-hallucination < obscure darkbient breakbeat

I like how half of the posts here are post-rock :3
Though I can't enjoy it as much as I did before. Most of the new stuff isn't memorable in any way :<
Birdy
there may be few post-rock posts a while ago, but half of the posts? I don't think so.

I guess I'll show up in this thread, since somebody posted Globular and mentioned Ultimae, and downtempo psychedelic is a big part of my life...from Self Fulfilling Prophecy, track 07 - To The Other Side Of Fractal Phase Space is probably one of my favorite songs ever... nice to see I'm not the only one in the world that knows about the Ektoplazm site, seeing things that previously I thought I was the only one who knew about like Auma

On to stuff...
It's psytrance inspired and a fusion of a couple genres, and I didn't see anyone in here mention it yet, so Akara
I got an advance release of the second album(contributed to the campaign a year ago), it's more of the same, in a very good way...shows up for public release August 5th

And in case nobody's heard of Rena Jones
Her first album is drum and bass-ey(but still soft enough to call ambient), the next two are more dubby, and the newest one is leaving electronic ambient toward just some ambient classical, but there's still electronic beats there

Recently someone pointed me at The Polish Ambassador
which, generally speaking, I'd call "breakbeat funk", soulful, nowhere near hip-hop but maybe heading in that general direction sometimes..and if you like that SaQi is probably good too

And finally, abstract strange stuff. This label: Abstrakt Reflections for gloomy schizo emo stuff, and this label Echomania for happy stuff that's somewhat weird.

That's a concise list of everything I've proudly paid for in the last year and a half that really sticks with me, I could've just linked to my bandcamp collection and done without specifics, but it contains a lot of uptempo psytrance as well

People tell me I'd love Sphongle but is music really still enjoyable when everyone you meet has heard of it?
Birdy
Sadly not everyone I've met has heard of Shpongle. Have heard Shpongle's music, probably, because I play "Shpongolese Spoken Here" a lot at school. And yeah, Ektoplazm is pretty much my favourite thing ever. Hinkstep, IooN, Dream Stalker, Phone Booth Robbers, Jikkenteki, Etnoscope, Healer, Sphingida and Globular all have a song or two in my all-time Top 20. No need to pirate music when the best stuff is free.

Anyway, thanks for the links, will be checking them when I'm on a proper internet connection!
vantheman
you said healer and I thought of Proton Kinoun, released in 2009, but newer than the healer album so the sounds are a little more "high def" I guess
http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/pro ... un-apeiron
and it's about the exact same style of music, great for reading or yoga or whatever..

Anahata is usually a progressive psytrance act, but his ambient album is a highlight among his works...
http://anahatamusic.bandcamp.com/album/the-unmade-sound
Some of the tracks on it show up on older Ektoplazm comps like Entheos Audio Archive, so you might've heard some of it

I guess when I say everyone I've met has heard of shpongle, I mean "everyone who talks to me at work when they're hearing my music". I play music 8 hours a day at work, and it seems like no matter what I'm playing there's somebody who wants to recommend me shpongle, because that's what any downtempo makes them think of, I guess. Usually when I say "Simon Posford? I've heard some of Hallucinogen" i get a blank look and a "huh?" in return.
Birdy
Oh yes, the Proton Kinoun album is amazing too. I've checked pretty much all under Downtempo, Deep Trance and Ambient (including Entheos Archives, will check more out by Anahata too, surely) released before June, but due to space limit I've saved only like 40 albums, with that one being one of them.

Sure, Shpongle is the most known Psybient act, but still more underground than, let's say, most of the electronic music. Simultaneously, most of any music.

Those who are (or are not, I don't fucking care) familiar with Woob, check this out.

There's some cool limited edition packs, too, which are probably gone in 2, 3 days. Got myself the Monochrome CD version.

I'd say it's Shoegaze. A nice song, by the way~

>ambient thread
>not posting brian eno

great artists:
Brian eno (has some solid 45 minute mixes)
Carbon based lifeforms (couple of very good ambient albums)
Orbital (not necessarily ambient but some of his stuff is really good and will be appreciated by ambient lovers)
Aphex twin (same for orbital, look for his album selected ambient works)
Solar Fields (much like CBL)
Massive attack, thievery corporation are great trip hop artists

and I Like sphongle, ott and many many others (I may cover them in a psychedelic trance thread?), but their style differs from the artists above (in the sense that sphongle and ott are much more psychedelic)
Birdy
Sure, his stuff is nice, but not what I listen to on a regular basis.
Sure, he's known, which is probably why it's taken as a self-evidence that he's known by most of us, thus not posted here million times.
So yeah.
Balgon
Does anyone by the way know of some beatmaps that are in the ambient music fashion? thanks in advance

Thanks. The music is pretty good but it was pretty boring to play sadly. I guess ambient just wasn't made to be mapped. :---(
