2012 London Olympic Singers

I was browsing through some Vocaloid videos, and I came across a top comment that talked about how Rin and Len were running to perform at the 2012 Olympics. The commentor wanted support for Rin and Len. Upon coming to the poll website, I was shocked, but it was an awesome shock because Miku is currently in the lead for people performing in the Olympics! She is ahead by a staggering 10% from second place, the increments below second place are 1-4%. It'd be so cool to see Miku perform at the Olympics, IMO. :3

I'm pretty sure it's... pretty official lol. That's true about Tokyo, but we need to show the English world the awesomeness of Miku- *shot by #modhelp*

My friend posted this a month or two ago, and I was talking about how ridiculous it was. It's in London, neither Vocaloids nor K-Pop singers should be part of it. Vocaloids singing their Japanese songs would be weird but maybe Luka can as she has a real English voice, but then they're going to have to get people really good at the program or it will sound like crap.

K-Pop singers... I don't even want to begin. Korean plus slightly broken English derpderp


also my friend deleted the post after the discussion. maybe it sounded like a harsh argument to him or something

I doubt we'll see Vocaloids at the Opening Ceremony.
What's probably going to happen is, they're just going to pick one of the human artists, possibly from Great Britain.
I don't claim to know anything; still I wouldn't put it past them to do that.
If it does happen though I will watch it, just for the symbolism of it all.

This is not officially endorsed by the people behind the Olympics, it's user created, so don't get your hopes up just yet.

Also it's old news btw, Miku was leading by 9% a few months ago, I see she's owning even more now.

Don't get me wrong I'm not a hater, I'd take Miku anyday over the alternatives (read: 2nd place, Justin Bieber... blabla).

In all seriousness, the Olympics isn't just about sports, it's real purpose has changed since ancient times. Now it's about bringing the whole world together, letting different cultures mix and promoting peace etc.etc(and also for the money of course, everything has something to do with cash). Like it or not Miku is Japan's Diva, she's already part of their culture, so her singing during the Olympics would make sense, even though it's highly unlikely.

Somehow, I doubt that a British event would even cameo an extremely non-British act--especially one that isn't even human. Give it up, people.

It's not a British event It's a world wide event that happens to be held there, cant see the statistics on that poll nor how wide spread it got but if the demand is there I don't see any reason not to give it some consideration and give the people of the world what they want. Hell I'd be content with a Miku toyota commercial broadcasted in response to this XD

Yes, but as Britain's the host, it would make sense for a British host to showcase a British act or several. Who are human.

curse this thread for informing me that there are people out there who legitimately believe computer programs can sing well

they can't

They have the ability to sing damn well for a piece of software, but lack any sort of genuine emotion and will always sound worse than an actual professional singer under normal circumstances

besides I thought the Olympics were about uniting people not replacing them

How is this NOT emotion? Sounds better and the performance overall is better than 99% of these lip syncing artist out there today!
