I downloaded the app on my phone yesterday (big mistake) and went on some random subforums like r/4chan and some people are really fucking rude and/or disgusting. Wtf even is this site and why is it so cancer?

I found it too, turns out that it's only very specific forums that are toxic. Otherwise people are actually pretty helpful nearly everywhere on reddit.
