I'm going to be getting a tablet here soon, and I was wondering if people tend to switch to tablet around any common general area? I suppose like around a certain level or upon reaching a certain skill level. Just wondering, any feedback would be cool.

I don't think you need to reach a certain point, be it skill level or play data to switch to a tablet. It's a sporadic thing.
There is no certain level minimum required. It's just that OSU is F2P game where a mouse can do everything (Angelsim, Fieryrage, Azerite, Riviclia, and Mouseasy have proven this). When it comes to area, it's all preference.
lol i switched to tablet after 5 hours, it doesnt matter dood, imo the earlier the better
I stuck with mouse until I realized it was too big for my hand which made it difficult to counter mouse drift with finger adjustments. 200 hours and rank 80k before I switched to tablet, but many players go even further with mouse when they're comfortable with it.
