Hello there, Sparhten here from SS Tournament and im here to announce a new Mapping contest under the same banner! below you will find all the necessary information needed to participate.
Format and dates
- Entries must be of a difficulty level appropriate for a finals mappool Nomod selection in an open rank team tournament. For reference, here is the finals mappool used in the previous SS Tournament.
- Judges are split into two categories: mappers(5 judges) and players(4 judges). They will judge different aspects of the map. We chose to format it this way is because the winning map will be used in a tournament (SST2019), thus play ability has more influence then your average mapping contest.
- The song length is 2:30~ approximate rhythm game genre
- This contest is accepting osu! standard entries only
- November 16th 2018 20:00utc Release of the .osz and contest commences
- December 23rd 2018 20:00utc Submission cutoff and commencing of the judging period
Rules
- You are required to join the discord to be eligible.
- Maximum .osz should not be above 15MB.
- At the beginning of the contest (Nov. 16th 20:00 UTC), the .osz for the contest will be released to the public.
- You are given five weeks to map (considering finals and all that shenanigans). You must submit before the cutoff, December 23rd 20:00 UTC.
- You are allowed to use custom hitsounds. However, try to keep the number of sample sets to a minimum. Points will not be swayed if you use a ton but it will make things easier on our end to manage.
- Keysounding will result in a disqualification.
- Storyboarding will not be considered in the judging process.
- Entries are expected to be completed (incomplete entries will be disqualified).
- Each entry must follow Ranking Criteria standards. Entries found breaking Ranking Criteria will receive penalties ranging from point deductions to disqualification based on severity.
- You may not share, upload, or publicly claim your entry until the contest winners are unveiled.
- The song will be announced on the same day as the .osz is posted.

All judges here were selected and gathered to represent several different view points from several different viewpoints of player standards/skill to mapping style/opinions and we have our utmost faith in them to judge fairly and equally.
Once submissions are closed our staff will compile a osz with randomly generated difficulty names that only they will be able to trace back to you to keep judging fair and anonymous. judges will then go through each map and rate them on a spread sheet with these categories
