quick sloppy doodle
Pretty solid, but left eye is a bit discoloured.
I think if you added 3 lines over the gap and filled it in after it would look much more symmetrical as that's obviously what you were going for, but overall quite nice.
Aoriki
Remilia- This was done mainly with sai+gimp. And it was my first time using both of them in a drawing. Not as good as the rest of you but I'm still proud on the results my hard work paid off.

(I wish I could speedpaint like op-center ;3;)
Jarby
You really don't like mouths, huh.
Pokebis
If they had mouths already it wouldn't be as exciting to take a butcher knife and create a faux-mouth out of the wound created on their face.

failboat just understands that all women should shut up and he expresses this in his drawings

edit: out of respect to failboat this will be my last shitpost on this thread

Had to toss together an illustration over the course of three weeks; I decided to center it around a character model I made last December. It was mostly based on an image from Google Maps, so the end result's not very inspired.

It's pretty much painted with no love and effort. Well what do you excpect of total beginner.

Is this thread dead?
Well, anyway, I'll post my drawing.

Body is little deformed, and I was too lazy to bother fixing it.

forgot to erase it?
Magicphoenix
Weird border from the scanner

]
nomen
I guess. I usually first draw a circle and then add a chin. As you can see I didn't erase a lot of stuff since it's just a sketch.

Foxtrot
boat, why did you start drawing animu girls? Just asking.
Topic Starter
boat
I don't really want to draw animu girls, and I don't only draw them, its moreso that whenever I draw real people from head it ends up even worse then the animu girls. Why I started was because I couldn't be arsed to study anatomy, later on when I did spend loads of time doing anatomy studies instead, I regret wasting my time drawing kawaii junk, but am kinda stuck with most of what I draw ending up being all uguu.

I do try to follow proper anatomy as much as possible tho, other then on faces. On the face front, I'm trying to develop some mix between cartoony and realistic. I guess I'm just lazy, as animu faces don't have to be defined as much. I have this issue with getting an imagination block as soon as I pick up a pen, too, which is quite a hassle when you got drawing and painting as a hobby.
Foxtrot
Honestly your animu girls are not my cup of tea, sorry, but I prefer your "realistic" style. Yes, it might not be the best, but what's the point of drawing huge eyes and a small face when you don't even want to? In my opinion, it's ruining your artistic drive. You don't have to listen to me since drawing has never been a major hobby in my life, but I think a couple of things about artists and inspiration. If I were you, I would completely drop the animu thing and just draw people as you want to draw them (which is, I assume, as realistic and anatomically correct). If you can't, try again, because nobody is stopping you but yourself. Sorry if I sound harsh.
awp
you could try drawing things that aren't people for a while

a forest, a city skyline, a centuries-old ship, a pile of bones, one animal hunting/eating another, a waterfall etc

stepping outside your comfort zone is one of the most critical blah blah blah you know where I'm going with this I'll just go to bed

haven't painted a portrait in ages, figured I'd give it a go

horrible work in progress that I most likely wont be arsed to finish up anyways
Foxtrot
Woah woah woah, how could I have not noticed this little gem? Who is the girl, by the way? You said it was a portrait.
Nekoroll
Continue with this "realistic" style, please. I prefer it over your animu style. :(
HakuNoKaemi
Done by a friend of mine and me(typesetting and screens)

another doodle

need to stop using color overlays and actually practice color theory rather than painting out the values in monochrome

ref:
as far as portraits go, I guess I didn't really manage to off using her as a reference all that well

didn't really follow the facial proportions all too much, I guess I only used it to get the perspective right, which I didn't either way V( . < . )V

but I guess that's just as good, its in any case better to practice drawing from head
gokiburi
The only two "paintings" I've ever applied myself enough to put effort into finishing.

I generally prefer doing more stylized, quick "fun art" than spending 8 hours on a "painting". I may draw more for the sake of this thread though.

I will have to try something like this. I really like the feeling of the strokes. I pretty much only use a hard circle for what I do these days.
