My request is to register the new osump://[...] links in the OS, so that those links for inviting people to a multiplayer game can be shared online and opened directly through a browser, opening osu! if not started and then fore a join to the multiplayer game automatically.

I think it could be a neat feature for osu! communities, facebook groups, twitter, osu! forum tournaments etc. to be able to post a link for others so they can join directly just by clicking on it.

This feature is also used by other programms like Teamspeak so that users can directly join a TS channel by clicking on a link ("ts3server://"), so why don't implement this in osu! too? As a progammer, I think it's pretty realizable (at least not impossible) and would be a nice feature :)

Edit: Ok facebook and twitter only makes http links clickable... it still would be nice to have this. The user would have to copy-paste the link into the browser in such cases o.o

well in firefox you can associate a protocol (like osump://) with a program. I already did that with the links in mods which use the osu:// protocol

That's correct and you could also connect them through some registry changes, but it looks like osump links aren't recognized from the client this way, at least the last time I checked :)
