autopilot farming ?

i see a lot of ppls with 5 digit ranks in 3-4* lobbies and their are playing autopilot when i asked one of them why there when doing that he told me that he was farming pp using autopilot

thats nonsense right ? isn't autopilot supposed to negate your score ?

(i konw he is probably trolling me but i still have some doubts cuz ive seen a lot of ppls do that)

They probably do that because they are playing maps that are significantly too difficult for them
