it would be neat if i can hear the previews when browsing beatmaps on my phone.

the audio at this website works so it should be technically possible

or a special "osu! direct app" designed and priced to do this job would be nice too :)

But you can't download songs on your iphone. You have to go on your computer to do it, so you could hear the previews while your on your computer. There's really no point in having the previews on a mobile device.

it can be fun to browse maps on say, a boat where I don't have my computer, or while waiting for a traffic light in a car. other places than behind my computer
