I don't think Filesonic was told to do this by anyone other than themselves (if someone has source saying otherwise, please speak now). I am under the belief that Filesonic is just covering their asses and trying to prevent themselves ending up like MU

Direct Downloads are more stable, reliable, and simple, but I get your point. I presume that i'll be close to impossible for the government to shut down torrents since it isn't just a single company or website, so LONG LIVE THE PIRATE BAY!! : D
