I found a bear and was looking to make one of those big ass rugs to put in front of my fire place, any advice on how to go about doing so would be much appreciated

Its full grown and it is indeed still alive. I have it in my shed out back and have been feeding it ground beef for the past 2 days. I tried asking one of my friends about it and they got really mad and mentioned something about it being "inhumane" or whatever so I decided to ask here.abraker wrote:
First two question..
1) Is it a cub?
2) Is it still alive?
Thank you, and best of luck in your plans.
Why not buy a done one? You sure you want to go through the emotional trauma of butchering a bear? Just look at it:ProbablyAlice wrote:

Butcher? Nono you've got it all wrong. All I want to do is knock it out and cut off all its skin for my own personal benefit. I'll release it back in to the wild when I'm done of course, I'm no monster.abraker wrote:

That bear is just gunna die without its skin. How are you going to deal with the fact that you murdered an innocent bearProbablyAlice wrote:

Plus buying one already done doesn't have the same sentimental value as doing it yourself.
What do you mean? Skin grows back you dummy, I should know I took an anatomy class in high school.Stanvord wrote:

See, now I understand where the problem is. The term you are referring to is flesh. Flesh is the layer underneath the skin, the part that protects everything else on the inside. No don't worry I would touch that part, I wouldn't want to hurt the poor thing after all. I feel bad enough keeping it in my shed.abraker wrote:
I think you are confusing "skin" for "fur".
Ah! But you see, skin is flesh. But if not, then what is hair and fur?ProbablyAlice wrote:

Hair/fur would be the little strands that stick out of the skin layer! You see, the skin layer sits right on top the flesh layer. Its usually not very thick and peels apart very easily from the flesh layer. This is how some animals shed their skin all in large pieces every so often. Though in most creatures it just flakes off in very tiny sections, like on humans.abraker wrote:

As for the type of shed I have, I'm not quite sure of the exact model or brand. I got this house from my grandpa a while ago and the shed was already there when I moved in. This is what it looks like though:jaaakb wrote:
Apologies for going a bit off topic, but what kind of shed do you have?
Connor? Oh we had a very tearful goodbye before I brought him back to where I found him. Part of me wanted to keep him, I mean he is family at this point, but the other part of me knew he probably already had a family of his own. So he's gone, but I will never forget himabraker wrote:
