[Archived] Stuttering after last patch

All of my songs on every mode have started stuttering randomly after the last update/patch. Usually occurs after ~30s of the song playing, and I've checked my ping/FPS and neither is spiking, also set the game to stable, so I can't figure it out. Any ideas?

I had the same problem. For me the stuttering started after I downloaded "too many" beatmaps. After I transferred all the beatmaps I got rid of it. After that I installed osu! on my SSD and put my beatmap directory on my HDD and now I can play without stuttering while having all my beatmaps as well. You can change the directory from your user config file (osu!.username.cfg) by changing the BeatmapDirectory to e.g. D:\Beatmaps.

turning off superfetch fixed it for me
