What is folding@home? Go here: http://folding.stanford.edu/

Now that you know what folding is and I know there was a thread about this before but I couldn't find it for the life of me; once you install folding@home put in these details:

Nice :D I always wanted to try folding@home :)
Ill be running this for when i do some overclocking to see how stable my pc stays :P
Will post here when i come back from collage.

Also can i join using my ps3? as i can remember it had folding@home installed

iirc F@H on the PS3 is registered under "ps3", and you can't choose your team. Of course, the last time I actually used that was like, ages ago, so I might remember incorrectly, or it may have changed.

Hmm seems like its only using 30% of my cpu 0_0 i gave it permission to use 100% but... if this stays like this i could have it running forever if i wanted to

Run more than one instance, just make a copy of the folding.exe and launch it :P

Nobody told me that I have to submit 10 WUs to be elligible for bonus points ;_; I would have like 8 times my amount of current points ;_;

On an unrelated note, I think I might start folding on my craptop (Core 2 Duo), rather than this one, so that my table doesn't catch on fire. I'll probably still fold with this laptop, but only once in a while... so.. well, just keep it in the list I guess.

Yeah, I just leave it on 1 core with 25% utilization, this beast of a cpu will hog way too much power from a night :(

EDIT: Besides, this project my CPU is working atm, is really bad. That's why I won't even bother wasting CPU power on it

EDITEDIT: If you really want points and get the 7600 or 7601 project, drop it. It's a bugged project that shouldn't even be assigned to anything below 16 physical cores (I'm running 6cores/12threads @ 100% now and it got assigned to me).
My bet would be, this ain't optimized at all, or it's just way too huge project to be handled like this (2 hours and still @ 0% progress)

Ok, made some changes. Decided to ditch the SMP, and work towards multiple Uniprocessor projects instead.

Now i won't be accidentally assigned to some supercomputer projects :P but instead on some low end projects, which my OC'd 3930K can crush in no time :D


(And yeah, that PPD is just for one workunit)

Oh yeah Corin, don't forget to add peoples GPUs if they fold with them!
As I showed, I use a HD6950 for OpenCL folding on addition for my CPU

So apparently I can't start the GPU client over RDP. It thinks the virtual display adapter is the main graphics device and can't find a GPU.
Also I forgot to disable sleep on my Mac.
