Both is the only correct answer.

Zebras have black stripes. They don't have white stripes.

Also, if you're referring to the bottom of the body, the nose and the feet are black. Some zebras also have stripes on their belly. Oh, and this...

And as it turns out, zebras have black skin underneath their hair.

"Zebras are black or dark animals with white stripes and their bellies have a large white blotch for camouflage purposes."

I take this offensively. What about the zebras with Asian and German stripes?

That contradicts the statement at the top of the page, then. Anyway, why argue about whether the stripes are black or white when you could just say both answers are correct depending on how you view it?

or just say "what is a zebra?"

no link or anything, though

it's a book written by some guy
that's not necessarily a fact; MORE OR LESS AN OPINIONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
Echo
Exactly, it's a printed book, which is (should be) more reliable than an internet source.

Incidentally, I was reading this article about What is Truth on Wikipedia? this morning: http://www.technologyreview.com/web/21558/?a=f

Did I say it was a fact? Obviously not, since I stand by zebras having black and white stripes. I'm merely saying "WIKIPEDIA ISN'T A DAMN GRAFFITI WALL WHERE YOU CAN WRITE WHATEVER YOU WANT". But hey, since no opinion is of value in here, let's just lock the damn topic, amirite?
ash
