It doesn't affect anything in game. Firm and soft are for when you are drawing with the tablet in a program that supports pressure sensitivity.
My pen doesn't touch the tablet at all, so in my case, it wouldn't make a difference :pSoItSeemS wrote:

I doubt it would make a difference if you keep the pen on the tablet though. I would imagine firm would be easier to glide across the pad with, but I guess it's personal preference? Not sure though. As for actual gameplay itself, as Nekoroll said, it won't change anything.
