Pretty sure this thread predates the music hall.
by like five months, yeah. It should still be merged with that one in Music, since the focus is "Music" and the genre is video games
I'll just put down my own list here.
- The Touhou series, all by ZUN (and all on PC, pretty self explanatory here)
- Cave Story (PC)
- VVVVVV (PC)
- The Megaman series on the PS1 (not the older consoles)
- Grandia III (PS2) - The first battle theme is my personal favorite. Some of the other tracks are okay and some seem repetitive.
- Pokémon 1st Gen games (R/B/Y, all on GB)
- Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red/Blue Rescue Team (GBA/DS). The ones that has the 4th Gen Pokémon (Time/Darkness/Sky) has a more eerie atmosphere.
- Fast-paced music-rhythm game music like IIDX, DJMax, O2Jam (erm, my avatar), and DDR. Although I have to admit that I only like about half of the songs in the DJMax franchise.
- BMS of Fighters series
There's probably more I like but I'll just stop it right here for now.

I will mention others such as radio 86.6 Game Battle Out Run, the songs 88, 8B and 8C in Game Bonanza Bros options. all game Golden Axe and all the play Cyber Shinoby. (Only cited'' some'')

303 songs/music in my collection are from video games 
"Kamui" and "G.O.A" from EZ2DJ/EZ2ON is a most loved song from games. Also I love "Nightmare", "Outlaw", "Say My Love", "J.M.J", "Ventelator", "Whiteblue", "SIN ~The Last Scene~" (Only DMP1 version), "-3" and "BlythE" (Only DMP1 version) from DJMAX. Yeah, I Korean rhythm games fan.

I'll start with some of my favourite ones:
This one plays in the central tower in Summon Night: Swordcraft story(GBA), nice peaceful song and it reminds me of some song i've heard already but can't come up with what it is. It sounds a bit like some finnish schlager/religious chant/classical piece lol i don't know.
The game it is from is also really underrated and played.
This one is a last battle in Estpolis/Lufia:Curse of the Sinistrals(NDS).
I honestly think they made quite good job in remaking this epic theme. There are also some other tracks you might want to check out, like remake of Gades battle theme.

In my opinion, probably anything composed by Yasunori Mitsuda turns into a masterpiece. My favorite RPG also has my favorite gaming original soundtrack, Xenogears.
Persona 4 music is still the best.. (for me lol)

I really love the kingdom heart music, but I also love the sonic music, specifically the classic sonic adventure, and sonic generations.
There's a lot of other games with great music though, my list would grow continuously if I thought about it longer.

Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland
Favorite video game OST is Spyro The Dragon. The music just fits so much the levels they're played in. Maybe because the composer, Stewart Copeland, played himself the levels before making the music to get a good feel for it.
