I might have mentioned this in another topic but here's some more thoughts about it:
You subdivide your songs into folders in your /songs/ folder, and Osu would recognize the folder structure, allowing you to open up folders for more convenient browsing.
There could be a checkbox that determines whether filters are global, or whether they apply to the currently active folder only
Additionally, you could add support for shortcuts. This could be useful if, say, your osu songs folder is quickly becoming the folder you open for music most of the time. You could create shortcuts to the songs and then move all those mp3s to your standard music folder.
Also, it's probably in the pipeline already, but an in-client beatmap download process would be neat, too.
