I don't think this is a game. :P

I *might* buy it, but I don't like how the battery life got destroyed. ;-;

not game, but console...
just don't know this stuff can placed at WHERE?

The fact they are going to have special software for just the DSi pisses me off.

Now I'm probably going to have to buy one.

If I can play Guitar Hero: On Tour without a Guitar Grip, I can play those silly camera games without a DSi. It's all up to whether someone feels like creating a patch or not. <_<

I'll :3 if it turns out that it saves images as .bin files.
Taizun_old
I want one :D if I get rank #1 by the time it comes out, you all have to buy me one. Jk, but still, it looks pretty coo.
Banon_old
Why is Nintendo's marketing scheme to piss off customers?

I mean, no GBA slot come on!

And just like lukewarm said the new software pretty much says you have to buy it.

At least its only $150US.

maybe this time they make the GBA only played by downloading online on Nintendo Store
and some sort like that...

Now that I think about it, there IS already a camera for the Slot-2 (Face Training). If a lot of good camera games appeared, third-party cameras for use with flash carts would probably appear on the market, potentially bringing loads of people with a tight budget over to the dark side. :D

Also, when the Lite was released, a new version of FlashMe was created, allowing Phat users to switch between four different brightness levels. Maybe the DSi will give Lite owners the new DSi features, too.

I was going to wait to get one of these, but then I realized:
Out of the four available GBA-compatible devices I have, one is utterly broken.
Two have their "R" shoulder button fucked up to hell.
One is painted silver, then had most of it taken off (blame my friend, she did that when she owned it, before she gave it to me). That and fucked up to hell battery space.

That basically means I no longer have reliable means of playing GBA games, save for the GBP that lies untouched on the bottom of my GCN. A DS-type device would be extremely useful, especially because I don't have any next-gen devices (all I have at the moment are GCN, PS2, and GBA/SP). I see the new device, and it looks useful at first glance.

Then I see the bottom. I'll take a Lite, thank you. Camera <<< GBA compatibility to me. I don't care about aesthetics (unless it breaks my "R" again).

DON'T TELL ME "No More GBA Slot" MEANS THE END OF GBA COMPABILITY!!!

I hope that means the GBA cartridge can be inserted in the DS SLOT!

You have no idea how crappy the Wi-Fi compatibility on the DS is. Downloading a GBA game could take up to an hour, and I seriously doubt Nintendo would allow you to download things from your PC. Besides, unless they create some sort of heavily modified GBA BIOS, it would be pretty much impossible to run the games at full speed, and if such a thing was planned, it would probably already be announced.

the good thing is, with the sd card it will be easier to bootleg.

My DS is finally starting to show its age, but if I ever replace it I'm going to try for a DS Phat first, then Lite, then i

whatever i stands for.
RemmyX25
I'll take a Lite over a Phat. I've been playing EBA on my Lite for quite some time now, and just recently demonstrated it to a friend on his Phat. I was surprised at how much sharper the Lite is compared to Phat.
awp
I've never used a Lite before. I just know the styli are much better. There are both pros AND cons to it, but if the pros outweigh the cons and I can trust myself not to drop it as much, maybe it's a better purchase.

The DS is a fucking TANK though.

If your going to replace it you might as well go light. MUCH sharper image, EVERYTHING looks brighter and more vibrant.

My DS is OOOOOLLLLLDDDDDD. touch screen now has scratch marks(from slight scratches slowly getting bigger) that are deep enough to be noticiblcle when sliding the stylus over them. It's worn in all 4 corners where the clamp touches the bottom half of the DS(big white marks). around the buttons the paint is worn and now white. But its also signed by Weird Al due to the thought that me and my friends thought it was a random thing to get signed. I bought it the first month DS's were available. Soon I expect I will be saying goodbye to an old friend if the touch screen gets any worse tot he point where it catches my stylus.

I'm surprised the hinge is still tight. I expected it to be limp by now.

3 things turned me off right away.

if i wanted to be a glamor gal and have everything one, i'd either go with a SK or an iphone, but a DS? i dun see it, PSP can maybe pull, but this area is NOT their forte.

Battery life destroyed

and No more gba slot, which is stupid, because in the ratio between awesome gba and ds games? GBA has A LOT more good games, IMO

and their shooting themselves in the foot, it's gonna make it that much easier to pirate games with the SD card slot :P

Oh, flashcarts do not work on it.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Edit: Disregard that, only self-booting flashcarts (R4, and apparently...Action Replay...) don't work.

Im sure when the dsi hits america or europe there'll be a new firmware for existing flashcarts or new flashcarts for the dsi. Now lets just hope they make a new firmware for the r4. :)
Auto-booting is handled by the hardware, so you'll have to buy a new flash cart or eventually flash your DS.
Atmey
The only thing I see better is the screen size, it'd be easier to play EBA/OTO.
doubt I'll be getting any one anytime soon.

No one likes the DSi, so let's guess the date it finally gets hacked. If your guess is the closest one, you win. If they all turn out to be wrong, it ends with a tie.
I put my money on November 14.

I have been looking these up (as I am obsessed with Japanese games and consoles) and it looks like the price is about $300.00 (my prices are always from E-bay unless otherwise stated), so they will be a bit pricey... but I am looking forward to it! ^_^

Unless the DSis are different, DSes are region free and will run your English games on it. I'm also willing to bet you could already run a English menu on an imported DSi right now; as my DS had like every language except Chinese in it.
