I have the same problem, and im ANGRY too. ; )

1920*1080 is my native resolution so I use it in Windows and in Osu but it always go windowed mode once I start the editor and "alt + enter" dossent work. Is it supposed to be like this or is it possible to run the editor in fullscreen? I cant run in 800x600 or 640x480 its not an option, im on a widescreen 16/9. I dont mind windowed mode if I could enlarge the window, is it possible?

Ill attatch a print screen from my desktop.

You can change windowed resolution in options or by manually editing your osu!<username>.cfg file, unfortunately there's no way of using the editor on fullscreen due to the menus and stuff.

I cant see any "windowed resolution" in options, just "screen resolution" however if I disable fullscreen it forced(changed to) 1280*1080, 1920*1080 isnt supported and dont become an option any more. I cant set my resolution to 1280*1080 in Windows to compensate otherwise that would have been a way to fix it.

Is it possible to open the game config and simply add another resolution to windowed mode, lets say 1920*1080 as an example, does it work? If thats the case, maybe Osu need an update so others dont get this problem as well. Its not exactly easy to understand whats wrong, like.. is there a technical reason for not having 1920*1080 as an opption when in windowed mode but instead force 1280*1080 ?

Would be nice if it was possible to resize the window like.. a webbrowser or whatever, would make everything so much easier!

You are my hero, it seem to work to change the value from 1280 to 1920 and as you can see it look better but I couldnt add a new command line. Cant find "Height" in the config so I simply tried to add it but it didnt work. When i opend the cfg again that line was gone. If theres a way to change height too id be happy. =)

"Edit

Hit me with something hard, I found it.. damn messy config

Its possible to change height to 1080 so the editor fits the screen perfectly, but then it isnt possible to click at play/stop/pause keys or drag the time slider for some very wierd reason. This can be fixed by a change to 1024, it dossent fit the screen perfectly then, but its good enough and you can click at everything in the editor. Just writing this in case someone have the same problem and need a solution.
If you have the same problem but run some other resolution like the thread maker, I assume you can apply this anyway.

If you set 1366x1024, everything would be just as big, but now you could hit the close button. ^^
1080 won't work because Windows won't let it. Windows automatically shrinks the window to make room for the title bar and menu. osu! isn't aware of this so its mouse coordinates get messed up, making the playback controls inaccessible.

Going into Windowed mode, then changing the resolution in Options is the recommended way of changing resolutions. Editing the config file manually could lead to a broken state.
Widescreen resolutions aren't shown in the editor menu because all they would give you is black space (as in your screenshot).
