Isn't working with.

I already know that it's a different pen from the original but is there any reason that it shouldn't be working ? (my original pen still does)
Also I bought this on the basis they both have Wacom, Bamboo and Fun in their name so if I missed something somewhere saying that they wouldn't be compatible then I guess I messed up.

They're 'build' specifically for one (or a couple) model of tablet, sometimes you win, other times you lose out.

Could just be my new anger toward Wacom but that seems like a bloody stupid way of making things. Thanks anyway.

The pen and touch replacement pen costs more, either because its for some reason harder or less cost efficient to produce, or for wacom to make some extra money out of it.

Either way its not stupid, either completely logical or just a dick move.

Yep, it's that. What you're linking to, is a stylus for an older generation Bamboo. What you want, is this one, based on your tablet's model number: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wacom-Replaceme ... rs_title_1
All Wacom tablets aren't the same, and certain features, such as pressure levels, depend on the stylus to support them, so it only makes sense that they would design their products specifically to match what they're supposed to. It isn't about "sometimes winning, sometimes losing", it's about actually reading up on things and knowing what you're buying.
