Game locking up after song selection [Resolved in b72]

When I run the game it's fine before I select a song, after that the screen goes black, the game starts to use 1 gb ram and almost 100 CPU and will stay that way until I close its process. I have everything required for running it (DirectX 9, ffdshow, .NET framework) and my computer has as much as double the recommended configuration. Any idea what's causing this and how to fix it?

It is probably attempting to extract the osz files you have in the songs directory. Did you give it a minute or two to complete this? Might want to check HDD utilisation to make sure I'm right on this one, though.

A loading screen is coming for the process, at some point..

That seems to not be the case because all the files were extracted already.

Anyways, I removed all the songs from the folder, redownloaded a single osz and tried running it again and got the same results. So I'm guessing the problem is not song-file related.

Oh sorry, I misread - thought it was locking at the song selection screen.

Try disabling video support in options - I am 99% sure you have a video codec overriding ffdshow that isn't playing nice.

No, that's not it... I pretty much tried everything before coming here, like disabling options, reinstalling codecs and the framework, resetting and reconfiguring their settings. It didn't accomplish anything.

Does edit mode work OK? Also - if you have msn or irc, it might be easier to figure this out using one of those - less delay between responses.

Edit: Could you please try again using the new version (b72)!

Sorry, I wasn't able to respond till now.

Anyways, looks like the game works now on b72, possibly because of the problem pointed out in the other thread (my localization). Thanks for the help/fix! :)
