This thread is in regard to the background dim setting and having the option to change the colour of it.
I have found that on some maps that have a black combo colour, with 100% background dim ,it is like playing with +HD on. I think that the colour of the background dim should be customisable so that notes can still stand out without giving the player distraction from the background and improving readability of the map. I also think that this would be a feature that players would appreciate, since everyone loves customising their osu! client.
