we did a kind of check via discord. mostly comments on the visuals and some hitsounding stuff.

It's actually pretty nice except for the visuals on the Easy. So, yeah, just polish them a little and we're cool.

23:32 Lilyanna: 00:27:931 (5,1) - can polish how (1) can blanket the (5) slider body like this http://puu.sh/vM30p/218f240a67.jpg the lines are sort of parrallel
23:32 osuskrub: lemme screenshot
23:33 osuskrub: fixed
23:33 Lilyanna: 00:33:053 (4,5) - same here i would do smoother flow like http://puu.sh/vM35R/a1e95ecf6a.jpg
23:34 osuskrub: hm
23:34 Lilyanna: 00:35:248 (1,2) - aesthaticaly can look better if u copy paste of the sliders and flip it and stuff
23:34 osuskrub: i think moving it upwards might conflict with the flow from 00:33:784 (5,1) -
23:35 osuskrub: and yea that one was dum lo
23:35 Lilyanna: it wont effect it much
23:35 Lilyanna: its still same circular flow
23:35 Lilyanna: rgi
23:35 Lilyanna: tho*
23:35 osuskrub: ill think about that one
23:36 Lilyanna: 00:52:809 (1,2) - same here for visual reasons
23:36 Lilyanna: make same slider and flip
23:36 Lilyanna: just copy past and stuff :p
23:37 osuskrub: yea
23:37 osuskrub: is that it for the easy
23:37 Lilyanna: 00:56:467 (4,5) - i believe but not sure new players can miss read the head from the tail since the taile looks lot closer to 00:56:467 (4) -
23:37 Lilyanna: 00:57:199 (5) - just rotate 90 degree
23:37 Lilyanna: xd
23:38 osuskrub: i can just make 4 vertical
23:38 osuskrub: yea
23:38 Lilyanna: yes
23:38 Lilyanna: 00:58:662 (1) - can add drum soft whistle
23:38 Lilyanna: in tail
23:39 osuskrub: it won't let me select the tail :(((((
23:39 *Lilyanna is editing [https://osu.ppy.sh/b/1289997 tomppabeats - like someone in love [myself.]]
23:39 Lilyanna: just select
23:39 Lilyanna: the spinner XD

23:39 Lilyanna: i just said tail idk im dumb haha
23:39 osuskrub: 'alright
23:40 Lilyanna: ok myself now
23:40 Lilyanna: im modding myself
23:40 Lilyanna: xD
23:40 osuskrub:
23:40 Lilyanna: 00:14:760 (4,5,6) - this combo should be mapped like this 00:08:906 (4,5,6,7) -
23:40 Lilyanna: they bouth sound same
23:41 osuskrub: i think having varying rhythms helps not the map be the same thing for about a minute
23:41 Lilyanna: do u heare both piano in 00:14:760 - and 00:15:492 -
23:41 osuskrub: i do it in the easy as well
23:41 Lilyanna: hmm
23:41 osuskrub: is that a piano?
23:42 Lilyanna: idk what is it
23:42 osuskrub: it's like a
23:42 osuskrub: idk
23:42 osuskrub: but it sounds nice lol
23:43 Lilyanna: 00:29:394 (1) - maybe smoother slider like http://puu.sh/vM3Bj/71f65a693c.jpg Can use grid snap
23:43 osuskrub: 00:23:540 (1) - but i do the same thing here
23:43 Lilyanna: 00:14:760 (4,5,6) - but cant u map it any different way so its different from this 00:11:833 (1,2,3) -
23:44 osuskrub: same sound
23:44 Lilyanna: 00:14:760 (4) - maybe make it 1/2 + hitcirlce
23:44 Lilyanna: nooo
23:44 osuskrub: o wait
23:44 Lilyanna: make this 00:14:760 (4,5,6) - different from 00:11:833 (1,2,3) -
23:44 osuskrub: i'll change 00:14:760 (4) -
23:44 Lilyanna: cuz
23:44 Lilyanna: yes
23:44 Lilyanna: thank u xD
23:45 Lilyanna: they dont sound same yet they are mapped same
23:45 Lilyanna: u get my point?
23:45 osuskrub: i get it
23:45 Lilyanna: and its nothing much u can do in this song so at least make every rythym countable
23:45 Lilyanna: give it its value
23:45 Lilyanna: :V
23:46 Lilyanna: 00:14:760 (4) - same comment on this wavy slider the wave is too big idk maybe just me but it can be smoother
23:46 osuskrub: i had to fix a lot of ds with that
23:47 osuskrub: and that was removed
23:47 osuskrub: cause u said lmao
23:48 Lilyanna: http://puu.sh/vM3Tb/d1068755e2.jpg
23:48 Lilyanna: 00:51:345 (7,1) -

23:48 osuskrub: !!!!!!!!!!
23:48 osuskrub: asjhvbbflk;as'
23:48 osuskrub: f
23:48 Lilyanna: xD
23:48 Lilyanna: what
23:48 osuskrub: that is getting FIXED
23:48 Lilyanna: thank god lord
23:48 Lilyanna: :V

23:49 osuskrub: i didn't forget
23:50 Lilyanna: when u map always look back to the object u placed
23:50 Lilyanna: anyways tags?
23:50 osuskrub: i have tags
23:50 Lilyanna: also consider naming the easy calm or something?
23:50 Lilyanna: idk
23:50 Lilyanna: ok i post now? xD
23:50 osuskrub: sure
Good luck.

pushing the boundaries of the ranking criteria, i see :^)

normal
• 00:16:223 (7,1) - make the curves on these slider more visually consistent? This would just help aesthetics lookk more organized

• 00:19:150 (3,4,5) - Making these all parallel to each other would feel more organized and add structure

00:24:821 (2,3) - probably nazi, but move 3 up a little bit? this would just create a nicer curve in between the objects. same concept for 00:39:455 (6,7) - if you want

• 00:46:955 (1,2,3) - make 1 and 3 symmetrical to eachother?

easy
• 00:08:906 (3) - move the second and third slider nodes toward the middle of the slider to make this look more even https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/8063672 (these are at x223, y-7 and x225, y64

• 00:13:297 (2,4) - Making 4 the same slider as 2 (except rotated and moved) would add a stronger sense of structure here

• 00:27:931 (5,1) - same sort of thing here. instead of making a new slider for 1 i would suggest a ctrl+h version of 5 for example

• 00:30:858 (2,3,4,5) - I think this flow feels very random, it looks like you didnt know where to go after 2 so you started to putt your objects away from the botton of the screen. This results in a zig-zaggy flow, between 00:30:858 (2,3,4) - and 00:32:321 (3,4,5) - . I would try reorganizing this pattern somehow that flowed more nicely because of this.

• 00:33:053 (4,5) - i dont usually mod for blankets but because its an easy diff (aesthetics are a bigger factor of gameplay), its kind of irritative

• 00:38:175 (3) - Maybe curve this more to match the aesthetics at 00:35:248 (1,2) - same sort of thing as 00:13:297 (2,4) -

i agree with baka with the visuals here

good luck ;)

normal
• 00:16:223 (7,1) - make the curves on these slider more visually consistent? This would just help aesthetics lookk more organized i made 7 look more like 1

• 00:19:150 (3,4,5) - Making these all parallel to each other would feel more organized and add structure i did some magic here :^)

00:24:821 (2,3) - probably nazi, but move 3 up a little bit? this would just create a nicer curve in between the objects. same concept for 00:39:455 (6,7) - if you want
i changed for 3, but i think 7 is fine
• 00:46:955 (1,2,3) - make 1 and 3 symmetrical to eachother? i don't see this as a problem :P

easy
• 00:08:906 (3) - move the second and third slider nodes toward the middle of the slider to make this look more even https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/8063672 (these are at x223, y-7 and x225, y64 fixed :)

• 00:27:931 (5,1) - same sort of thing here. instead of making a new slider for 1 i would suggest a ctrl+h version of 5 for example i prefer the look of these sliders better than making them structurally the same, they look (tbh i forget the word here but there is a word for it)

• 00:30:858 (2,3,4,5) - I think this flow feels very random, it looks like you didnt know where to go after 2 so you started to putt your objects away from the botton of the screen. • 00:33:053 (4,5) - i dont usually mod for blankets but because its an easy diff (aesthetics are a bigger factor of gameplay), its kind of irritative the pattern is changed so this is not relevant

• 00:38:175 (3) - Maybe curve this more to match the aesthetics at 00:35:248 (1,2) - same sort of thing as 00:13:297 (2,4) - i changed it to match 00:44:028 (3) - because i think that's better that way

i agree with baka with the visuals here me 2

good luck ;)

thank you!

Hello there!
The fabled mod

[ General]
  1. add "lo-fi" to tags
  2. Using the drum sampleset for the beats in the map is pretty unpractical, so here is a hitsound that better fits the drums in the song . Make sure to rename should you need too.

[ easy.]
  1. 00:05:980 (1,2) - Not a fan of this angle. The synth is really mellow so having such a snappy movement from the get go is a bit sudden. A possible suggestion would be to ctrl H and ctrl G 00:07:443 (2) - and reposition to x:295|y:88 . since this kinda screws over your DS consistency I'm going to tie this over with my next suggestion. 00:08:906 (3) - Turn this into 2 1/1 sliders to better emphasize the synth that pretty prominent in both ticks ( not having one clickable is a bit offputting ) and turn this into 00:10:370 (4,5) - a 1/1 slider to better emphasize the vocal hold thats apparent here. Kinda what you did here 00:20:614 (3,4,5) -
  2. 00:14:760 (3,4,5) - the synth is a bit tamer here so 2 1/1 sliders arranged in this manner, with ticker starting on 00:14:760 - would better represent this synth, since having a sliderend on this tick 00:16:223 - is not recommended, cause of the prominent vocal
  3. 00:30:858 (2,3) - Could be expressed better visually, maybe with a direct blanket of (2) to (3), will also help the pathing
  4. 00:35:248 (1,2) - Symmetry could work wonders here, having a consistent sound be so differentiated in terms of slider shaping is a bit questionable
  5. 00:39:638 - Also try to make this clickable, as the synth is pretty strong, and for consistency with previous measures
  6. 00:46:955 (1,2) - A bit of symmetry here could have sufficed
  7. Generally the rhythm is simple as expected of an easy diff. I always refrain from pointing out aesthetics but some simple practices like symmetry will do the trick just nicely for this diff. Due to the sheer BPM and note density, having a visually appealing map would go a long way to leaving a good impression to the one playing it

[ myself.]
  1. 00:13:114 (2) - Should have been a drum sampleset to be consistent with the other notes you use the drum sampleset on ( Should you use the hitsound i gave you, then a whistle is missing here :D)
  2. 00:11:833 (1) - Pretty subjective, but I am against the idea of sharp shapes in mellow songs. The feel the slider eminates doesnt really compliment the song, which is pretty mellow in its own right. Thus, try going for a curve, and also try to tie it together with the following pattern as the current one utilizes a rather sharp angle
  3. 00:19:150 (3) - Similar point here ^ . Could have been so much more if it was utilized as a wave slider
  4. 00:20:614 (4) - Missing Drum sampleset ( Whistle )
  5. 00:22:077 (7,8) - Vocal hold pretty prominent here, a 1/1 slider would express it better. Also its the only instance thus far that a 1/1 clickable gap between circles has been used
  6. 00:23:540 (1) - Optional Suggestion; make the curves of this slider a bit less sharp. It feels like it was stretched more than needed
  7. 00:29:394 (1) - Similar point here ^
  8. 00:33:053 (5) - I would go for the pattern consistency here, not only for the actual consistency, but mainly for the fact that the rhythm utilized in this way 00:27:199 (5,6,7) - for example is more interesting
  9. 00:42:382 (2) - Wrong sampleset used ( aka add whistle )
  10. 00:45:492 (7,1) - How about making these symmetrical, pretty easy without ruining DS and will give that added aesthetic touch
  11. 00:52:809 (1,3) - Make them symmetrical, it really shows that they arent and ruins the whole idea of the pattern for me ( i know im dumb )
  12. 00:58:662 (1) - I dont think 2 points only can express the gradual descrease of the volume , i would add maybe another one for 15% . Or you could bump the base volume to 25% and add 4 points with a 5% volume decrease per point

Good Luck!~ If you need any help, you know where to find me

The feel the slider eminates doesnt really compliment the song, which is pretty mellow in its own right. Thus, try going for a curve, and also try to tie it together with the following pattern as the current one utilizes a rather sharp angle i wanted to use more slider variety but i see where you are coming from, made it curved
  3. 00:19:150 (3) - Similar point here ^ . Could have been so much more if it was utilized as a wave slider i like the parallelism on this
  4. 00:20:614 (4) - Missing Drum sampleset ( Whistle ) i love anime

Hello from your M4M queue! ^_^
general
Add "bjork" to tags (vocals/sample)

easy.
00:07:443 (2) - Copy 00:05:980 (1) - and replace
00:08:906 (3) - ctrl+J and replace, it'll blanket 00:07:443 (2) -
00:16:955 (5) - Bring this up so it follows 00:15:492 (4) -
00:46:223 (4) - Place this at x256 y216 so (3) blankets it
00:46:955 (1,2) - - You seem to like having these slider "wings" like in 00:11:833 (1,2) - and 00:23:540 (1,2) - Maybe do the same here?
00:58:662 - Maybe put a circle here?

myself.
00:05:980 (1,2) - I feel you shouldn't start with 3/4 spacing. Maybe the first time you could do this -> https://puu.sh/vOtBU/99c332a1c4.jpg
to prepare people for the rhythm.
00:11:833 (1) - Slider looks uneven. Move the middle point to the left.
00:41:101 (1) - ^, though move the point to the right
00:29:394 (1) - You may want to move the slider points to make the curve better, like this -> https://puu.sh/vOtGq/e0b251dd9b.jpg
00:38:906 (6,7) - Circle is slightly off from lining up with the slider.
00:45:309 (6,7) - ^

Mostly aesthetic suggestions. The song is simple but really chill ^_^
Good luck on ranking! :)

sorry! this diff had some heavy placement modified so none of your suggestions where problems in the new update.

to prepare people for the rhythm. this completely messes up the rhythm, and i want it consistent
00:11:833 (1) - Slider looks uneven. Move the middle point to the left. this was fixed from nokashi's mod
00:41:101 (1) - ^, though move the point to the right fixed
00:29:394 (1) - You may want to move the slider points to make the curve better, like this -> https://puu.sh/vOtGq/e0b251dd9b.jpg i like this curve
00:38:906 (6,7) - Circle is slightly off from lining up with the slider. yea
00:45:309 (6,7) - ^ this one is fine

Mostly aesthetic suggestions. The song is simple but really chill ^_^
Good luck on ranking! :)
thank you for modding!

just delete soft-hitwhistle and hitsound the piano it sounds so much better that way imo, adds so much more to the map instead of just very faint drum samples

high diff

00:19:150 (3,4) - arrangement can be ambiguous to read, people tend to move towards ends if stuff is remotely suggesting a shorter path (shorter path being reading it as crtlg and 1/2)

00:21:345 (5,6,7,8,1) - with all the overlapping this just looks like a low-effort pattern lol

  1. finland and helsinki are hardly a good tag to describe the song itself. Let's just remove them, perhaps.
[easy.]
  1. 00:14:760 (3) - this would feel better as two circles to stress the piano beats. it would match with the rhythm you follow better.
  2. 00:32:321 (3,4,5) - the back and forth movement with the stack is uncommon or a relaxing and simple difficulties. besides, it stands out in a way that makes it feel somewhat unintentional. can we avoid the stack somehow?

i see that you don't exactly intend to have perfect visuals, but there is literally no connection between 00:11:833 (1,2) - or 00:17:687 (1,2) - or at least not that I can see/understand clearly. oh, and 00:49:882 (3) - this one overlaps with the score-metre thingy, so it can be placed a little higher. probably you could focus more on that, since the rest is ok
[myself.]
  1. 00:10:370 (7,1) - are these different on purpose? looks like you were trying to show the same style of sliders, but decided not to copypaste it for some reason
  2. 00:19:150 (3,4) - they seem to follow the same instrument, why not make them parallel?
  3. 00:22:809 (8,1) - the overlap on its own is good, but it feels sort of out of context as this is the only one of a kind in the difficulty.
;et's just work a bit more on the visuals and give it a try.

  1. finland and helsinki are hardly a good tag to describe the song itself. Let's just remove them, perhaps. tomppabeats is an artist from finland. technically you can put this under "finnish" music.though i will remove helsinki, i agree it's a bit misleading.
I know you shouldn't use other maps as justification, but this map does the same incase you really disagree with me keeping finland in the tags. https://osu.ppy.sh/s/552732

  1. 00:14:760 (3) - this would feel better as two circles to stress the piano beats. it would match with the rhythm you follow better. yea,
i do use 2 circles and 2/1 reverse sliders for variation, but this seems a bit off, fixed.
  2. 00:32:321 (3,4,5) - the back and forth movement with the stack is uncommon or a relaxing and simple difficulties. besides, it stands out in a way that makes it feel somewhat unintentional. can we avoid the stack somehow? i went for a simpler approach

i see that you don't exactly intend to have perfect visuals, but there is literally no connection between 00:11:833 (1,2) - or 00:17:687 (1,2) - or at least not that I can see/understand clearly. oh, and 00:49:882 (3) - this one overlaps with the score-metre thingy, so it can be placed a little higher. probably you could focus more on that, since the rest is okI decided to fix the 2nd optionthough i think the first one is fine,
it's mainly a different type of flow and are the same slider. making everything symmetrical is not what i intend to do.
also the score-metre one was fixed
[myself.]
  1. 00:10:370 (7,1) - are these different on purpose? looks like you were trying to show the same style of sliders, but decided not to copypaste it for some reason 7 is expressing a vocal, and 1 is expressing..whatever that instrument is. I decided 7 should be smoother to better express the vocal ,and 1 should be more curved.
  2. 00:19:150 (3,4) - they seem to follow the same instrument, why not make them parallel? p much same concern expressed by oko,
    fixed
  3. 00:22:809 (8,1) - the overlap on its own is good, but it feels sort of out of context as this is the only one of a kind in the difficulty. this was a concern in oko's mod, fixed
;et's just work a bit more on the visuals and give it a try.
also, @oko after playing around with a few hitsounds to try and match the piano, i decided not to go through with your suggestion due to the fact that I feel that it would take away from the "mellow" type of tone from the song, and the drum samples do a good job at that.

should be good to go
riffy
The BG is way heavier than the mp3 itself. Also, the hitsound file has a slight delay.

sorry, let's fix metadata real quick

maybe also set the preview point to something that isn't looping the last 10 seconds into a fadeout in song select

while you're at it and stuff

this is not kpop, oko

Based on the tags for the map, seems like skrub took the metadata from the tyttö ep, where the song title is not capitalized https://tomppabeats.bandcamp.com/album/tytt-ep
https://tomppabeats.bandcamp.com/track/like-someone-in-love-2

So since it appears with both capitalized and uncapitalized, either are okay. But since the song appears in the Harbor lp that should probably be added in the tags
riffy

we figured that out, so that's cool. my apologies for being rather quick with popping it. but yeah, consider the stuff Oko mentioned and we'll roll the bubble back

hitsounding
00:09:638 (5) - 00:15:492 (5) - 00:21:345 (5) - etc. spots like these would be great with whistles for melody like before imo, no problem stacking whistle+clap
00:56:467 - volume decrease should start from here
01:01:589 - i'd remove hs from spinnerend cause you can't really hear the song anyways and even 5% seems to loud

rsz_by_myself_waifu2x_art_scale_tta_1 (1).jpg
http://lasse.s-ul.eu/foSA0UFT.jpg wouldve been nice to see some better playfield usage, as the map is noticeable center heavy, most of your patterns go just back there all the time :c
00:19:150 (3,4,5,6,7) - this looks so out of place with all your other patterns, the perfectly horizontal stuff and all
00:56:467 (5,6,7) - would gradually lower sv cause song is fading out

"better playfield usage than top diff" diff
seems to lack some 1/2 rhythms with top diff using so many 1/4s, but the song is kinda lol for these so I guess it's alright
00:13:297 (2) - would flip and rotate a bit more nicer visual movement for beginners
00:20:614 - 15% ds difference is quite noticeable and looks really off
00:22:077 - similar to ^ // 00:35:248 (1) - not even top diff uses ds changes to :eyes:
00:25:004 (2) - why does this have to be so unnatural movement wise, could just http://lasse.s-ul.eu/9yieuHkd.jpg

should be fine after that

"better playfield usage than top diff" diff
seems to lack some 1/2 rhythms with top diff using so many 1/4s, but the song is kinda lol for these so I guess it's alright i didn't use as much 1/2 rhythms due to the fact that the diffs would be too similar in sr and in general
00:13:297 (2) - would flip and rotate a bit more nicer visual movement for beginners i decided to ctrl + j the slider instead because i think it flows even better than what you suggested
00:20:614 - 15% ds difference is quite noticeable and looks really off i am retarded,
00:22:077 - similar to ^ // 00:35:248 (1) - not even top diff uses ds changes to :eyes: i prolly forgot to adjust ds on a previous mod LMAO
