change background?

can i change the background of a beatmap? cuz 1 of my beatmap only hav vid and i cant concentrate with a video in background when i removed it from the options the background now is just black.. can i put my own bacground there??? sorry im a noob.... thx in advance

what beatmap? Must be an old one; all beatmaps are required to have a background these days

tl;dr though, yes you can add a BG. Nobody's gonna cut your head off if you do

ohhh sorry my question as wrong.. what i meant to say was "how" haha but i know now but still. thanks for a uick reply

Open the map in the editor, then click the Design tab. You should see a button in the top right that says "Insert Background" or something to that effect. Pick your background from your harddrive, save the map, and you're good to go.

Additional question to what you answered awp:

Assuming the beatmap(s) are already ranked, will altering the background remove it's ranked status?

Yes, if you do it the way I told you to do it. No, if you use a .osb file to script the background in.
