Ok, before you get triggered... READ THE WHOLE POST Ok then, let me go for it.

Taiko: A game mode where you only have to press 2 buttons, Seems like a simple idea - and it is - However, that doesn't make it an easy one.
Simplicity is something that can be played with to create Taiko, making a fun game mode... but, what if the mode was way more complex? Here I'm going to suggest: Taiko+

So, Taiko+? what is this you are saying landwii? You don't sound convincing!
Of course not, I haven't even explained anything! Pretty much, Taiko+ would be an alteration of Taiko, which would be WAY more complex... so... way harder. the mode As I see it, would have some features that would be fun in a Taiko game, without turning it into a mania game. Here you will have a list of features that this mode would have, and why:

- Double Keys; You have to press both buttons as a special note reaches the Circle
This one is basic, but have you ever played a Taiko map and stopped for a second to think: "This instrument is pretty Unique and stands out from the rest". Well, this would solve that problem, but if you play taiko a lot, I guess you are thinking: "Finish Notes" I thought so too... but, what if its just a note that would sound good? As in a way that a finish wouldn't? Also, Finish gets repetitive and might not fit anywhere. I would suggest using a Purple Circle

- Holder; A special note where you hold, using a different key.
Ok, so, we have a song that goes something like this one: https://youtu.be/eJeeAoKkcC0?t=39s You have a Long note, In a normal taiko, you would follow the instruments to the back, but what if you could have a holder? You hold, By example, your Middle Mouse button (or a/d/anything that is close to the original 2 buttons) then you would just use one of these to keep that main instrument existing! The following suggestion should also help you understand other better uses.

- Double Board; You play in 2 boards at once.
So, Let's say you play with C/V and you have a song like the one I just used, Long notes are there, Have an other example of a song that would use double board: https://youtu.be/1fu3Q1giB94?t=1m50s Ok, so we have a Main instrument and a Background instrument, of course, you only play one in original Taiko.... unless you go for a higher difficulty... What if you played both? You could use a second rail that would only use one Circle with also a unique new color, Holders and Sliders, not Spinners, I have something planned for those.

- Colored Spinners; Spinners that respond to certain colors.
So, lets say you have this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jO4fTcziVRM (Yea, Its better to have examples) Now this song has a pattern that is full of fast streaks, you would use a slider or a bunch of stacked notes.... what if you could use both? so, if a slider is blue: you only use the key assigned to Blue notes, same with Red and the supposedly Purple. This would be placed in the screen accordingly, similar to spinners in normal Taiko: They go over the board. So: Reds to the left, Blues to the Right, Purples in the middle. Only on 1st Board

- "What The Hell are you saying? Taiko has its magic! How could you ruin it!" This is something I guess I will be told, so I decided: - Mod! (Minus mod)
This would be a possible Unique Modificator to the game: Holders become Drum Rolls/sliders in the 1st Line, The second line new objects get erased if they overlap 1st line, Double keys become regular Finish Blue Notes, spinners become normal. Score as normal Taiko maps.

- 1 rail Mod; Everything is in line 1.
Self explanatory, new mechanics: Old board. Overlaps disappear. 0.70% Score.

- Mania! Mod.
The boards become Vertical and work like a Mania map would, double notes will split into 2 notes in the 2 different lines, I would put the spinners all to the right with a dark shade and that activate in the board, always staying there. 1.12% Score

So... Yea, if I come up with anything more, I'll put it in here (also if you suggest something and is seen possible):
Extra Ideas:
Finish of Extra Ideas
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If many people ask for it, I will make a video in my youtube with more visual aid, and maybe an example Level by editing? That way it will be way clearer. Heck! If it gets considered to get into the game, I'll make some custom graphics if possible!

I think now is the time:
Always Breaking the keyboard, messing up for no reason, being me: Smashed Tomatoes. signing out! :3

I personally don't like this idea as the gamemode wouldn't be unique enough. The leaderboards would quickly be saturated by all the current best Taiko (Possibly Mania) players as they would already posess alot of the reading and playing skill for the mode. If it was in the current Taiko mode it would completely break current mapping metas and there would be a complete playstyle difference between new and old maps as old maps would have none of these elements.

Honestly it's too similar to taiko and mania. This isn't a "New game mode" if all it does is combine elements already in the game.

You said it in your own post, they are finish notes. What would you do for finish notes if you used this concept? I highly doubt anyone would like this especially at higher difficulties.

I think you missed the point as to what taiko is. Taiko is a drum meaning you don't "hold" anything. you aren't going to be following constant sounds with a drum.

There's a difference between good and bad complexity, when you have something like this the player can get easily confused as to what beats are being followed on what track, keep in mind this is a rhythm game, the rhythm has to make sense not just a note on every sound you hear.

Just play mania it's the exact same thing.

Don't take any offense from this please. Even if I'm butthurting too much about this, I don't want to make you feel terrible because of my words.
I'm not saying it to you particularly, just to your ideas <3

Hmm, we don't need this feature to make finishers good for any point of the song. To make finishers fit anywhere you want you can use custom sounds. Problem solved.

Why hello there. You stole these from mania, dude. Why in the hell should we put them to a new "unique" mod based on taiko?...

This concept sounds pretty insane to me and too hard to deal with both in mapping and playing.

Sounds pretty strange too. The main concept of spinners in taiko is that you should press different colors to clear it. What you're saying is completely the opposite.
