Is the HitObject format for osu!mania documented anywhere publicly? If not, am I welcome to ask for pointers to unofficial documentation?

Nevermind, someone pointed me to this thread: t/314918

EDIT: Actually, it's just a partial answer, so any help on parts other than hitobject positioning would be appreciated.
