wojjan is in belief of that having a high postcount equals not being retarded
Most of these come from users with under 10 posts, so yeah. The idea never was to completely eradicate shit posts before they happen nor to create a needless privilege for the cool kids. I'm going to assume it will stay at 10 posts because I like that number. Also, it's fucking 10 posts, come on.Wojjan wrote:
People make them to say or ask something that's been explained elsewhere, reposts of threads that already exist, or threads that are outright rude or bad. It'd also keep spambots out.
I absolutely agree. But it helps filter out crap threads, surely.failboat wrote:
what I'm trying to say is that posting 10 times wont necessarily give the knowledge of what you should post or not

You can't have war without casualties, can you?SupernovaGA wrote:
Mmm, can I point out that some people (eg. myself) very rarely (1 time so far) post outside of off topic, and as such technically don't get post counts.(Parenthesis ftw)
well then you shouldn't be starting threads. It's those people who always just dabble in places where post count doesn't go up that should just go along with the system. 10 posts is not a lot, going into GD and posting your various belongings, surroundings and physical qualities in the designated threads nets you half of that already. Go talk about a video game for a while or mod some maps and you're there.SupernovaGA wrote:

Unless the 10 post limit doesn't exist in sections where you don't gain postcount by posting.
Obviously certain forums are exceptions to this feature...Blue Dragon wrote:

Silly BD~ Learn to read <3Blue Dragon wrote:

No, fuck restricting it to beatmap submissions, that's silly. Also, my first map was timed (relatively) properly, (sort of) had a sense of distance snapping and was my 10th post, so there's an example for you.Blue Dragon wrote:
I read the thread. However, I've NEVER seen anyone that has less than 10 posts make a non-BPM 60 Offset 0 map with no sense of distance snapping or anything. I was thinking if it wouldn't be a really bad idea to prevent all these kind of people that register, post a retarded map, and quit forever.
Sound like too much work though; osu! itself would have to know how many posts do your account have, to prevent you from submitting maps.

AW DAMN IT! I loved that thread!Loginer wrote:
Seriously, just look at this thread right here on page 1. Nine pages. NINE PAGES of circlejerking and complaints about how much the thread sucks and oh why won't anyone wasteland it OT sucks waaaaaaaaaaaah, and not a single report.
To be fair though, quality control is not supposed to come from the public, because tastes usually differ. Like half the time I say "Locked and Wastelanded" or any permutation thereof, I'm joking. That thread might be a piss-poor example, but still I participated. Ish?Loginer wrote:
Getting rid of the kind of people who post things like "how do i get bunny achievement" would noticeably improve the mean quality of threads here, so I support this request.
Of course, things would get a lot better around here if a few of you would actually report bad threads instead of just crying about them. Shitposting is against the rules here on OT, yet it has only been reported once over the last 18 months. Seriously, just look at this thread right here on page 1. Nine pages. I may not be very active on this forum, but I do stop by the topic list several times a day. If some of you would take the time to report bad threads instead of rolling around in them like farm pigs in their own shit, I would gladly get rid of them for you.
You said rude twice, but I agree. I like you.Wojjan wrote:

Besides, I always believed the report function wasn't for "bad" posts in the sense that OT usually uses that word, but more for posts that are rude, unfitting, not user-friendly and rude. Threads like some of the ones I listed in my feature request.
