Heck, the show at this point is showing him as a shitty friend. The main three characters in OreGairu are supposed to be people we relate to from high school, not people we want to spend time with.
I think that's the point of the show, that he'd be a shitty friend. He actively alienates everybody who tries to get close to him, and tries to act as if he's better than the status quo despite his actions trying to maintain the high school status quo. He wants to be a part of everything but he's miserable and has built up his own identity as one who doesn't need others.Green Platinum wrote:

Bossun, Himeko, and Switch from SKET Dance. They help people and each other so I think it'd be interesting to be part of that.
