If I remember right, INiS said that they were going to release an Elite Beat Agents 2 for DS.

What I'm asking is, what things would you like to see in this game?

For me:

Some jap songs, and make the EBA team meet Ouendan in some part of the story, making the Ouendan team cheer in the japanese songs and the EBA team in the english ones.

And this is just me, but after seen the end of Ouendan 2. I thought that in the last song, where both teams join forces to make that last cheer. You should see your beats and behind thoes, in other positions, the beats of the other team, to make the feeling that there were 2 teams doing that. This would apply to the versus mode too, where both players play different versions of the song (Like a mirrored version) and see how the other does at the same time you are playing with your beats.

Maybe they will add online mode or something like that.

So... what are your oppinions?
RemmyX25
Or iNIS will pull what they did in Japan and make the Ouendan downloadable via DS Download Station. Online Play would be a good idea (i'm all for it!!) but wouldnt it generally restricted to American players? Sure people could import it and p'wn our asses from another country, but ideally only in USA. Downloadable songs via Nintendo WFC?! Now thats a good idea!!

Anyways here are my song ideas for EBA 2:
Turn the Beat Around- Gloria Estefan

Dance Dance- Fall Out Boy

U Can't Touch This- MC Hammer

lol "japanese songs" in elite beat agents. you know, there's a little game called ouendan ;P

Wall of text!

I'd like to see a straight-up EBA 2, without the Ouendan, for DS first... and then later an EBA Vs. Ouendan crossover game, perhaps for Wii (so it could have twice the songs, or more).

I'd like to see the EBA face off Ouendan2-style against a set of agents from a "competing" agency. Since the EBA are so prototypically "American," it was suggested to me that their rivals be "The Russians," which I think is hilarious. Instead of having separate songs for each team, though, you can play each song as either team, and the scenario is slightly different depending on the team you choose. Like, the stories would start out the same, but the Agents' different cheering styles would inspire different solutions, and result in different endings. And of course they'd team up in the end... probably to prevent a war between their two countries... using the power of song to unite them (these'd be fictionalized, caricatured, neighboring countries, rather than the real USA and Russia). Song would be "99 Red Balloons," most likely.

Just as Ouendan 2's first song brought back the glasses kid from Ouendan 1's first song, EBA2 would start with a song about the babysitter and the quarterback, now 6 or 7 years older. This time, though, the agents would be cheering Don on, as he tries to propose to Jane... who's busy with work. Song would be something like "All the Small Things" by Blink-182.

Also, the sad song would have to be even sadder. I think they have to bring back Lucy, now a teenager, simultaneously falling in love and finding out that she's dying. The story would have the Agents quietly giving her hope while she learns to say goodbye... to the tune of "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston. At the end, you see her spirit join her father. And the Agents (from either team) visibly cry. And so does the player.

I have a few others in mind, but every time I think of an idea it negates the possibility of that idea being used in the game. I might make these myself when Osu! gets the storyboard feature working... yes, even the sad one. See how good your high score will be when you're sobbing!

And yes, I have put too much thought into this.
Homestarrunner
hmm, i had the exact same idea for the first lvl, except your helping Jane propose. As for songs, i can't think of many songs at all, but 99 red balloons would be awesome! But, to make it more "americanized", there gonna throw in some 'girly' pop, prolly more Madonna, Ashlee Simpson, or Britney Spears. There also gonna need some classic songs, and no songs from this century, i mean from all of 2000. Well....... maybe a song or to could get by on that. Its cause Inis is mostly a japanese company (Correct me if i'm wrong) and they listen to mostly japanese music, so they know whats "hot" and "fresh" and "not old", but in America, (Quote taken from a show called X-play) "they must've gotten their music in the $.99 bucket at some gas station, or dollar store"
Rod_old
Elvis Presley's "Blue Suede Shoes". =P

"Toxic," while it's a horrific song, would actually be pretty fun in an EBA game, especially if the story handled it really ironically.

I didn't have much of a problem with most of their song choices. Most of it isn't what I'd choose, but the songs fit well with in the game. The only one I absolutely hated was "Survivor."

Also, while iNiS is a Japan-based company, I've seen interviews with the main designer, and he speaks fluent English... I think he went to school in the U.S.
Homestarrunner
so, basically there taking more songs from Taiko Drum Master? THey already took Material Girl, and ABC, and prolly another one i missed, cause if there taking more Taiko Drum Master Songs, i want Killer Queen then! Oh yea, Toxic was in Taiko Drum Master if it wasn't obvious from this post
LuigiHann
I was just naming a song that I thought would work. I had no idea it was in Taiko Drum Master (the only game in that series that I've played is the DS version). I have no problem with them using songs that have been in other rhythm games, because adding the story to it always reinvents my perception of the song anyway.

Keiichi Yano stated in a review that he wanted to make an Ouendan-free EBA 2 first, and then he might see if they can't make a mixed game later on. So it's probably not going to happen. :/
ZZT the Fifth
EBA 2, period.

Because, seriously, I haven't heard anything from Inis about a real EBA 2... searching for EBA 2 just gets me info on Ouendan 2.
Homestarrunner
Taiko Drum Master is for the PS2. They just made a game for the DS as well........ which i'm getting in a month ^^

I didn't know they said that about Ouendan for EBA 2. But if someday they do the cross over. I will be very happy.

Aside from the songs, do you want some kind of new gameplay or something like that? (Like LuigiHann's idea of different endings for each song)
eyup
EBA2 should come with a voucher for a complimentary replacement touch screen.

Homestarrunner
oh god........ if iNiS goes for more "recent" american music, i can bet that song will be on EBA 2
LuigiHann
Ohhhhhhhh, now I recognize that song.

Think about it objectively, it'd be an amusing story song, and with the BEAT-BEAT-BEAT-BEAT chorus it'd be a decent fit for a 2-star song toward the beginning.

I hope they don't use it, though, just because in my opinion, songs from bands that had songs in the first game should be off limits, to promote variety.

Ummm.... i didnt have a problem with Tomoyasu Hotei or Kishidan.....

Avril and Ashley Simpson shouldnt be allowed in the second game, to promote variety.

avril lavigne and ashlee simpson were really fun on eba 1!

Homestarrunner wrote:

I sure hope not. One of the reasons I liked Ouendan 2 much better than EBA was the music. Sure the whole "shouting at asians" versus "dancing to the groove" theme was amusing, but what made Ouendan2 better than EBA for me wasn't the inherent JPness of the game or the music, but the good variety and sound of the music. I enjoyed some of EBA's tracks that I'd never listen to outside of the game (such as Survivor by Destiny's Child) but a lot of the songs in EBA, although fitting the game's scenarios, just weren't good. North American music is getting progressively worse. If iNiS goes for more recent music, I pray they take this recent music from Europe, because the only good music these days comes from there for the most part. If they opt instead to stick with North American music, please oh please take music from the 80s. I'm not a nostalgic person (I was not even 3 when the 80s ended) and don't feel any affinity toward the decade, but it wasn't really until Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s that I was made aware how much better rock was back then than it is now. And since EBA is all about smooth moves, waving arms, Kahn doing silly-but-serious things, and rock, let's see some Rock in EBA2, not this ironic pop-rock, or pop-punk. A generic-pop track or two wouldn't be bad (as much as I dislike it) but when a game is about the music, it'd be nice for the game to actually have good music. No drove-syndrome bands please.

Well, a site says that....

"" "Believe" and "Let's Dance" are in DDR, "Rock This Town" is in Donkey Konga, and "The Anthem" is in Donkey Konga 2 ""

I left out the Material girl and ABC thing tho

But still, i want killer queen to be in EBA 2! ^^

yea, i suck at all the GH's though, although GH2 Encore- Rock the 80's has one of the coolest songs ever, that I hope might help http://www.homestarrunner.com get a little more popular, "Because its Midnite" by Limozeen. Limozeen was created from homestarrunner.com, as of seen in this short cartoon (Note, the e-mails this guy gets are real, from real people)

is an awesome song.

I'd love to see EBA 2 exactly like you described it.

An idea by me, that's probably not worth much:

What if by solving things 'The Russian' way other than 'The EBA' way, the Russians get more influence and you play a song corresponding with 'The Russians' as the end song, with a song corresponding with 'The EBA' before it. Of course, it works opposite: more EBA 'influence,' and you're playing 'The Russian' song before 'The EBA' song. (P.S. - "It's the End of the World as we Know It (And I Feel Fine) is my ending song of choice.)
Druid_old
I think they should take all the real borring songs like " I was born to love you" off EBA...they kill me... I just hate it...

Aw, that's one of my favorites.

I have thought of an awesome scenario using Hulk. (At least, in my opinion) Here it is:

The Song: Predictable, by Good Charlotte
The Scenario:
Hulk's team is doing great. They're in the finals of a big season for them. The end is in sight, when they find out the name of the team they're facing is 'The Golems.' Hulk is shocked, and doesn't want to play.

Later, it's the bottom of the ninth, and Hulk's team is losing badly. The entire team agrees that they need Hulk's help to win the game. He then yells out loudly, "Ouendaaannn!"...

Oh, wait, no...

"HEEEEEAAAAAALP!!!"

And the EBA/The Russians follow.

Guys, can someone link me to an article that confirms this? I can't find anything anywhere about EBA 2.

Goddamnit, I totally want Girlfriend on EBA2.

THANKS.

As well, I would totally not be against a Whitney Houston song being on EBA 2. As well, I'd like a NEWER Madonna song...like Jump.

And the Aretha Franklin Version of Jumpin' Jack Flash.

And yes, a coupon for a replacement Touch Screen would kick ass.

I hate how us Americans are so self-centered.

I recently did a Google Search on Elite Beat Agents 2, and numerous hits came up saying stuff like "Elite Beat Agents 2 expected in May 2007!" "Elite Beat Agents 2 hit in Japan, no word on North American release" you get my point, i think.

[Rant]
C'Mon people, Its not Elite Beat Agents over there! EBA and Ouendan are two COMPLETELY different games!! Different music, different story, different characters!!

GAH!!

Identical gameplay though.

This game will be so cool
Mogsy
Although a lot of music I like seems like it would do so well in EBA, none of it is well-noticed enough to make it in. Might as well just suggest other songs I may have heard. Barracuda by Heart seems like it'd be fun to play. The Rest of My Life by Less than Jake just seems like it'd be a decent slow song. ...erm, I can't think of much of anything else right now.
meyou22
Dionne Warwick's 'I Say A Little Prayer' would be cool.

Maybe Hot by Avril Lavigne?
awp
As for a song? Hallowed Be Thy Name by Iron Maiden.

Really, I just want that song to be in any rhythm game I play ;(

They can always use the Censored version.

'Mutherloving Princess'

Though I don't know how much better that is.
LuigiHann
I'm sure they could come up with something. They re-record the songs as covers anyway, so they could change the line or even remove it fairly easily.

1:The Hidden Mod

2:An Downloadable Song option (game comes with something that hooks up to ur computor) cant have that with out an edit mode!

3:A rival Team

4:Over 40 songs lol

Monkey Magic (its japenese but it has english lyrics)

There already is 4-player co-op, I want them to change the co-op so that you are all playing at the same time, instead of switching your beats off, also in co-op it'd be nice to be able to choose a character.

More characters, another team would be sweet.

Being able to play single-player with Kahn without him dancing like a Diva would be preferable.

This game NEEDS to be a 2gbit card like A.S.H.
We could have 35+ songs on a 2gbit.

And finally, being able to make your own squad of EBA would be the best.
