Alright guys, I had a conversation with aston and here's what happened.
He said that just recently:

aston chat with some people in #filipino
then some person said "You don't look like Filipino to me" to aston
and also asked aston to leave.
apparently, aston forgot the person's name
but he remembered it was lowercase.
He'll notify me when he remembers.
Anyway, after that, he always had #filipino open but never chatted (or read most of the messages)
Just in case he might be treated like an outsider again.
He's a cool guy, nothing to worry about.
