not at all. can't even seem to get to work because after every notion of a possible idea comes in, my motivation sneaks out the window and flies off, along with my creativity.

Absolutely not, I always prepare myself before doing any kind of work in order to be efficiant and not just run in blind but after a bit of work I always end up improvising the rest. Though it's not as if my preparation was entirely useless, it really helps getting started. It's actually pretty hard to just improvise everything so making a plan beforehand can just be a begining so that you have a bit of content frmo which you can start to improvise from.
