Just saying that you can't download without being signed in so you can alway track who downloads what if needed, although it doesn't matter probably.

Couldn't agree more. In fact, I wanted this to be added since I started mapping because I would like to see how many people have downloaded my maps and stuff... would be a cool feature and I believe not that hard to implement.

I thought of this idea too, I know many other mappers support this idea. Especially for people that are not quite at the level to rank maps (or maybe they are trying to rank first one) seeing that lots of people have downloaded and played your map is encouraging. Even for graveyard maps, the number of favorites is a terrible way to know how popular a map is, but if you see how many people have downloaded your map, maybe you will be more motivated to make more maps!

Take my remaining stars, I wholeheartedly support this idea! I used to use page view counters on all my maps to try to keep track of how many people looked at them, but that didn't really work either due to how osu's web caches embedded images.
