April 11th: First submission.
April 12th: New full submit. Background image changed.
April 13th: New full submit. Storyboard added. (be gentle, it's my first SB attempt :D ) Also, Backfire's taiko added. Cheers.

April 24th: New full submit.Mp3 fixed (added 18ms of silence at the start so timing doesn't feel off). New mp3 with different encoding. (corrects the offset)

General:
I felt there were too many combos, coming every three or sometimes even 2 notes. Especially for hard, where I think combos of 6-10 are approximately right, whereas it's more acceptable in easy and normal.

I really liked the progressive level of difficulty, the rise felt very even. Hard was particularly suited for me. Also, your sliders are very, very neat.

I know double digits are acceptable, but music changes and I tried to match the music with the combos. - AR9 is a bit tough, esp. with those reverse jump at the starting part AR8 makes the map difficult to read. AR9 is necessary for this kind of a speedy map. Those jumps are easier to read with AR9 than AR8 if you ask me.

This is unrankable unless you do something about it. It's too hard. 200 bpm and so many streams? Dude.. No. + The distance is quite big.

00:52:800 - NOOO. This is very long 200 bpm stream! Way out of ranking... I recommend using a bunch of sliders going back and forth to replace this madness.

And please... Have custom colours for this beatmap! I tried, but due to dark BG monochrome combo colors would be either hard on the eyes (especially if using the default skin) or would be too dark to play normally. Default colors work fine on a black background and I will not change this.

None of the hitsound changes will be made, sorry, all hitsounds are intended to be like they are now.

Insane:

Why would this be unrankable? :| I've seen ranked maps which are harder than this one. It's using 1.0x distance scale (1.4 in some cases and 2.0 for lolultrajumps which are easy to hit) so I don't understand how can that be a big distance. The stream itself is using 0.6x.

00:32:325 - Remove beat, no need for triplet here. Listen to the music. It's clear that there is a drum hitting in between the guitar notes, thus the triplet.
00:51:000 - 8 and 9, make them 1/4 sliders so it sounds correctly to the beat. Done

I understand that this varies from person to person but most people who playtested this had the alright timing. I will consider this in the future if more complaints arise.Recently going with new global offset settings and now I notice this as well. I have re-encoded the original mp3 and it should be alright now with new offset (46).

I was mapping the soft parts as well as the fast parts. You're not really supposed to have breaks or anything in taiko, usually, so it wasnt exactly overmapped. I just put alot of content in, to make it fun.

Still, you don't have to put the hard points on soft parts xD. Guardian of the Village is a great example, the soft part really is soft, but it isn't a break. :3

Well, I had a run-through with your maps, but I can't find anything major inside.... :|
All I can say is:

[General]
About the combo colours, the reds look almost exactly alike. Maybe change one of them to different colour?
Also, I think 4 colours are nicer here instead of 5....

[Hard]
Hmm, I can't find anything, maybe except the streams at 0:52:800 and 1:50:400.
The rhythm of the hitsounds is fine, but the non-clap notes feel rather quiet. Just my opinion.

[Backfire's Super Taiko]
Hmmm, this one feels quite fine, but I'm not really confident about my Taiko modding skills.
Try asking experts like wmfchris, lepidopodus or OzzyOzrock for their opinions.

The black name rectangle below the Taiko stream field is a bit too far from the bottom of the grey field, hope you can fix this.

Because on both default skin and taiko skin this looks fine to me in 1024x768 windowed. I already had complaints about the taiko BG having some issues with the position of the gray bar, so your picture would say more than a thousand words. :3

Hmm, I see what you mean, I was modding the map using 1024x600 widescreen format coz my laptop is widescreen.
But, I tried several other resolutions, and still the same thing...

1024x600


1024x768 (Sorry about not covering the whole screen, my laptop screen can't fit it)


800x600 (Standard one)

Well, I don't know if it's added now, or not, cause my osu is being homo.
Recently I've been getting messages that there are failed imports because they are incomplete or corrupted, and sadly your diff gets the same message even though it's in the folder.

What a huge difficulty jump from Insane. Of course the map's fine, but it could be a little better if you'd add a couple of jumps :3 Hmm I don't think would be a good idea. Even though the gap is bigger than normal, that's mostly because of 200bpm, people who can play up to hard would find this incredibly hard if I did this I think.
01:42:600 (2) - let the end of dat slider stack on 01:41:850 (4) ? Done. Curved it a bit because I want it to point towards (1) without moving it.

Fast reactions would force you to move 1-2 1-2 and then 1. I suppose I could drop new combos here, but I doubt it would be readable unless really looked into this.

Oh my bad lol. I was looking at 0:14:850 lol. In any case I'm not removing it cause the note follows the "untz" beat in the background, as this part of the song (the repetition) is more streamy than the first part which is more jumpy (in patterns).

It's not exactly offscreen but it's very close to the edge, and currently it's a bit hard to position it properly if it's not like this. I will keep it as it is for now unless a MAT or BAT tells me it's unrankable. Okay, I fiddled around with some positions and came up with a solution. It shouldn't be near the edge that much anymore.

Really hard to read, AR9 makes it more unreadable. AR9 is really necessary though, any 200+ bpm map with AR8 or lower will have so much stuff on screen that it's not playable.
^Nah there are like that on purpose. They may look confusing but they aren't that bad. It's a really tricky pattern but it's not impossible to sightread. Also, how did you get those timelines? :P Remapped to a more standard pattern. It's still hard and uses slightly bigger spacing but easier to read.

01:29:146 (2) - spacing. i'm sure 99% of players will miss there. Spacing is fine. New combo helps immensely (back to 1.0 distance instead of 1.4). I haven't seen people missing this yet though.
01:35:896 - again unreadable thing. Nah it's perfectly readable, atleast to me and a couple of others who playtested this.

Better to ask players to play it. This difficulty has so many confused patterns, go through the map and try to fix it. Well the patterns are intentional and the map is quite hard. Already had about 6 different people playtest this for me, and noone had any problems with reading (apart from 5 of those who missed the first "confusing" pattern in the map because it was a "wtf" moment, but they got it right on next try). The 6th one was Niko- so... (he fced it first try :D)Now I need to find new testing bunnies! - ok some players of my level tested this and they had absolutely no problems in reading these patterns on the first try now. I will leave them like they are now.

Thanks, will apply the cosmetic fixes.

edit: small update - most of the patterns in Insane completely revamped, this way they are EASILY sightreadable (you aren't ready for this kind of map if you can't read this now ;_;) but semidifficult to perform, depending on the person. Some notes were added as well where they needed to be in the first place.

Backfire
So, some people are complaining the taiko is overmapped, and it kind of is, but thats for personal mapping reasons, and I mapped what I heard.

So the triplets of doom sections have been completely rehauled, making the map a bit easier on the hands, and the chorus has a few things updated.

Here's the updated taiko. Im really sorry for not being as good as I'd like to for you, lolcubes, and if it ever comes down to having my map being removed for it to be ranked, you can let it go...I dont want to drag you down.
