Well as you all know in each gamemode there's a maximum score. I think it should be interesting to get the score into percentage. It would help the player to know how well he managed the song with a quick look or a at a part of the song.
This can be compute with this formula: X% = ((current score/max score)*100)/1
Thank you for reading o/

there is no maximum score for standard. theres only for mania. and taiko doesnt have one and i dont think ctb has

In all game modes, there is a maximum possible score for each beatmap and mod combination.

In standard, the maximum possible spin speed is the one auto mod makes, and the best possible score possible is the one made by auto-mod (except in cases where playing notes out of order with some slider patterns gives you more score, or there are several objects at the same time).

In taiko, calculating the maximum score is straightforward.

Calculating the maximum score possible in osu!catch is much harder. Even if one limits the algorithm to maps where catching all regular notes is possible, there are still banana patterns (which can have different optimal strategies depending on AR and the starting and final positions of the catcher in their duration).

i was talking of fundamental highest possible score (like in mania its 1mil+mod multipliers) not of the maximum score possible in a beatmap

Well I know that the score in mania and in std are not the same but even so you can set the score beyond 100% (Depending on the coefficient it would be equal to coef*100 on the maximum ) or staying on 100%. Infact it's easier to compute the mania score in percentage than the standard score in percentage. But it's still manageable on all mods.

Except of my question "What's the point of this feature", about that thing:

Doesn't the Leaderboards do the exact thing? I mean if you see you're 5k points behind the next one by having the same accuracy and mods you could conclude from this your spinner(s) weren't that good and you need to do them better, just for example.

Well ingame you don't have time to read and analyze your score in one glance. Often we look at the accuracy to make an idea.

Because of this the players , or way simpler to read/understand I have played with often says "Yeah I've S this" "Yeah I've 89 this" and as all mods are not only based on accuracy, I found this inrevelent of the level of the player on the map.

For exemple, in mania mode as my predilection mode a player can say yeah 89.5% of this map with 595k of score wich is terrible cauz' it means he didn't managed to play the patterns but he had a verry good accuracy. Otherwise you'r playing and you are at half of the map, you have 30% of the total score , by this you easily conclude that the other half will be taugher and can be motivate your self for the next half.

Of coarse I don't mean to replace this, only an option to able/disable.

I don't see as anything closer to useful for gameplay. If you want to have thw maximum score possible, just SS the map and spin (standard) really fast

Well for some mod SS is not setting you to the maximum score. And it's not something easy to do.
Axon
This would just be confusing, I don't see people benefiting in any way from this.

Getting an SS would be the same as getting maximum score possible.

Axon you would be surprised that is a standard in many rhythm game use this system like stepmania or even SDVX games. It's confusing 'cuz you're not used to it. A question: between accuracy and score, which one do you read and understand faster?

Vnomk not on every mods, for example in mania you only need 300 to get an SS and R300 for getting maxscore. R300<300<200<100<50<Miss

I'm actually being serious...
It's such a small effort to calculate it yourself. Type your_score/max_score *100% and voila
You have the answer

I don't think that when you're playing a map which requires all your reactivity you have time to compute with an unknown maximum (depending on the mod) value without affecting your performance on the map.
I'm okay out of the map but during the map it's quit hard.
Bara-
What's the point of knowing it when playing?
You'll only find it a bit useful at the last 5 notes, since you have an exponential (?) combo multiplier, making score only go up much in the end

Well not everymod but if the player aims a certain score or wants to see if the next part is harder if he wants to know if has to raise his accuracy a bit in order to get x % score.
Otherwise for exponential score depending on combo it can save time if he miss and a the next combo would be interesting for the score.
Bara-
Due to exponential increase, you'll only know if you can beat someone's score after you beat it
The increase goes so quickly, that it can't be calculated via humans, whether this is in score, or in percentages, as both are having problems with this exponential scoring system
In the start it'd go slowly up to 0.1%, but at the end, each circle can be 0.7%, but due to it all being slightly different, having a 4-digit number (like 97.82) won't be accurate at all
You'd need a number like 97.8201640 if you want to know if you can beat it. It can be rounded to 100%, but it may be 99.995, so it's not beating the score

Percentage won't be accurate, but the main point of it isn't the accuracy of the value but the speed of use of it .

This can be explained by the short amount of numbers and it's meaning that most of people studied and used at school.
For example the player have done a combo of 300 and got 26% of the score with this ,if he does the same thing or better he would get >52%.
The main issue of the actual score it's the length of numbers which is sure accurate, but difficult to read and most of all, use it while playing.
