[Archived] LoadLibrary failed with error 998: invalid access to memory

Problem Details:
I am on windows 10 and just upgraded and I am getting this error
Loadlibrary failed with error 998: Invalid access to memory location
please help I really want to play the game again

It's hard to diagnose without additional information. If you can try to dig up the relevant reports in EventViewer, it may help figure out what in particular is causing the access violation.

The last time I seen a LoadLibrary issue was with AMD users and their Crimson software. It was error 87 and not 998 though. The issue could be caused by any dll that osu! needs to run, and the most likely to cause weird issues like this is your graphics card software. Something may have gotten corrupted when you upgraded or you may have forgot to update to the latest drivers. Try reinstalling your drivers and see if the problem goes away.
