Since peppy announced graveyarded maps not going to be available anymore... means that any map not ranked (but might be still popular map) will just get lost forever or you will have to explicitly ask for it in the forum which means its some kind of denying access to some good stuff. That's why I'd come with the idea of giving unranked stuff a 2nd chance.
With a 2nd chance I mean..... maps that are really popular but couldn't pass the rank filter because really tiny stuff...
Example: Foxytek vs Billx - 30's swing Tek map is extremely popular beatmap on multiplayer rooms, it isn't ranked because the "Insane" difficult didn't qualify. It happens that difficulty is the popular one that most people play, its well timed, its a great map but isn't ranked. The reason? Because as "Insane" it cannot qualify, doesn't meet the requirements for that difficulty, tho if name on that difficult would be changed to "Extra" or just "beatmapowner's Insane" would then get ranked probably.
So what's the request here? Add a feature on the website (like the Kudosu system but everyone can participate without needing those thingys) so every player can give 1 request per week to 1 beatmap set (or a concrete difficulty too) so maps accumulating decent amount of requests could be reviewed by BATs and with collaboration of everyone (community and bats) we could try to find where is the actual problem and if its something really stupid just fix it and make it ranked.
