If it's anything like other games, you need to have enough players to fill the minimum required team size that are better than the rank requirement of 5k. However, if more than 32 teams enter, teams are given priority by their overall strength, and those countries with small rosters of players who have ranks closer to the entry threshold are likely to be dropped.
