Basically, store avatar information for local stores. It doesn't have to be the actual file, just a way for osu! to access it and show it on local rankings if you are online (when offline, a placeholder may be used for all scores). Also, if no player information is present, it might look better if the default name was "Guest" and/or a placeholder avatar was used, maybe like the one on new.ppy.sh.

Some users play offline with their friends so I suppose it'll be nice to see some default avatars that can be chosen.
Most likely the replay file will contain a boolean (to check if local avatar is used) and a byte (for what avatar).

As for the blank name, yes I agree on that.
